Hi Desmots,

Happy New Year! I would like to give you a quick review of the milestones we have achieved in 2021.

  • February 2021: We reached our first 500 member on our Discord server (now more than 7000!);
  • April 2021: We allocated approximately 1 million $DSM (1% of genesis supply) as reward to the validators according to their performance of the incentivized testnets;
  • May 2021: We raised $2.7 million from 150 non-institutions/VC participants, making the total fund raised to $2.9 million from 177 participants;
  • Aug 2021:
    - Launching block explorer Big Dipper 2.0 and and a crypto management platform called Forbole X to support the upcoming Desmos mainnet;
    - To support more teams to build on Desmos, the $25 million Forbole Ventures was soft-launched. It was poised to make early-stage investments in projects that are built on Desmos which then connect to the IBC ecosystem.
  • 31 August 2021:
    Desmos Network chain started at 17.01 UTC of August 31 2021 with:
    - 52 genesis validators
    - 69 active validators in less than 12 hours
    - 4.5 million $DSM already delegated
  • Nov 2021:
    We have given a presentation at Cosmoverse, the community-organized Cosmos conference. Riccardo, our Tech Lead, has introduced Desmos and announced a massive 21 million $DSM airdrop (21% of genesis supply) to over 280,000 addresses across 11 IBC-enabled blockchains.
  • 31 Dec 2021:
    - 3.9 million of $DSM were claimed through the airdrop campaign.
    - 16,036 Desmos Profiles created which connected to 35,103 chain links

[ Reminder: the current airdrop claiming period will end on 25 Feb 2022. If you have not yet claim your airdrop, please do it according to the instruction in <How to claim DSM airdrop with Forbole X> and <Desmos Airdrop FAQs>. ]

Ecosystem

As of 31 Dec 2021, we have over 80 validators actively contributing to the security and governance of Desmos. Some of them have built great tools and project relating to Desmos:

  • Go-find.me by GStake
    GStake created the first dApp based on Desmos: Go-find.me, which is a decentralized version of Linktree.
    By using Go-find.me, you can create your Desmos Profile, link it to different chains using Keplr wallet and search for other profiles on the Desmos chain. And yeah it also allows you to claim the airdrop with it.
  • IBC Wallet and Mintscan by Cosmostation
    Cosmostation keeps their contribution to support Cosmos ecosystem projects by supporting $DSM on IBC Wallet and Mintscan.
  • Ping Wallet by Ping.hub
    Ping.hub has added $DSM to its explorer

In a month or two, we will kick off various grant programs to support our ecosystem development and marketing.

Listing on Osmosis

We have a good year 2021. Let’s have an even better year 2022. To start with, we have made a Desmos proposal to enable IBC-transfer which we expect will be passed by $DSM stakers on 13 Jan 2022 (UTC). Afterwards, we plan to create a liquidity pool to list $DSM on Osmosis (yay!). Stay tuned!
