Hello everyone! We’re starting a new set of articles about the use cases of our platform. The “destream use case”-type materials will be published from time to time to help our users clearly understand how to use the platform functionality most efficiently (with examples).

Today we’ll talk about art content monetization via regular and recurring tips.

YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and even personal websites — art has always been one of the most popular types of content on almost each and every platform & social media in the world.

For example, according to Statista, in 2020, 87% of all art buyers globally were using Instagram to discover new artists. The growth tendency is also quite impressive.

In short, everybody likes beauty & aesthetics, and if you’re able to deliver it, and do it with high-quality standards — monetizing your content will become nothing more than a cakewalk.

Now let’s delve deeper into the monetization topic. Artists that have already gained a minimum audience, besides just selling their works, have many ways to get more money than just a couple of tips, and this is where destream comes in handy. The most effective monetization ways are:

  • Commissioned arts and paintings: if you’re talented and/or hardworking enough, your viewers can become customers in no time. They’ll start ordering “arts” and paintings and tag you on their social media, which will eventually become an excellent source for not only making money but also raising your channel/website awareness.

How destream helps: in today’s world, a lot of people have a severe problem with making payments from one country to another. Besides, some payment platforms use the current situation for earning more revenue and raise their commissions. Unlike them, destream allows you to make payments from any part of the world. Plus, our commissions have always been among the lowest in the world and have never changed — 4,77% for all the payment methods.

People draw everything using literally anything. It’s interesting, it’s beautiful, and it inspires.
  • Content about the process of making this or that work. This will be useful if you’re watched by other artists who love your works and want to learn all the details of how you make them. Usually, this type of content is limited and viewers get access to it only when they sign up for a paid subscription. The Mastercraft should always have its price. Besides, such an approach will not only bring you money, but also the reputation of a master artist — something that money can’t buy.

How destream helps: recurring tips functionality — a perfect way of creating a stable income source. The main advantages of destream’s recurring tips functionality are low commissions (especially compared to classic subscription platforms), and the ease of sending/withdrawal (almost no difference with one-time tips). If you want to receive more information about recurring tips, just read our guide/news article about recurring tips functionality.

  • Online courses, webinars, guides, etc. If you’ve already come a long way as an artist, but have just started doing the first steps on the content creation path, it’ll be very effective to not only show your skill and receive tips but also to pass on your knowledge and experience.

How destream helps: recurring tips and nothing else!

Example

Let’s take a talented young artist as an example. His name is John, and he uses Instagram as the main social media, Discord for communicating with fans and students (in case), Twitter for raising awareness, TikTok as the main booster to all the above, and, of course, destream for making money. Oh, and Linktree for effective usage of all the channels.

How it works:

  • John makes a Linktree multi-link and places it into his Instagram bio (it’s the most effective way).
If you don’t know how to use Linktree, this article will come in handy.
  • After finishing with the main channel, he places the donation link into the Discord server. Besides, John configures the bot(-s) to share links with people, using which they can send recurring tips. This type of donations will let John’s tippers have an access to a closed Discord server, where they can order paintings and communicate with him in a more private atmosphere.
Don’t know how to use bots? It’s very simple, just follow the guide.
  • The description of John’s Twitter account also contains his Linktree multi-link… not only a donation link. The guy uses Twitter as the main place to stay connected with many interesting people (including other artists), and this fact makes it crucial for John to be able to show everything he does in one place.
  • In addition to all the above, John has already activated a TikTok business account and placed the multi-link there. Now, the hard work on capturing the right light & camera angle, placing trendy music, and editing his drawing videos will pay off as a super efficient boost for his content popularization. More interested people, more fans, more students, and… more money. And these are not just words.

This is what John’s Linktree looks like. Now let’s wish him some good luck and get down to the summary.

Artists are creative and talented people that always spend just IMMENSE amounts of time and energy on creating content ideas, bringing them to life, polishing & promoting their works, and hoping that people won’t remain indifferent. If done responsibly, such work definitely deserves a reward, and we at destream have decided to give them (and many other guys who we’ll talk about in our next “destream use case” articles) an opportunity to completely focus on making content and don’t think about how to organize the monetization process. Have a nice day and stay creative!
