DIA is hosting a monthly Telegram AMA session with the core team. The aim of this monthly event is to improve direct communication between DIA and it’s community, by collecting community concerns and suggestions and having the DIA core team answer them.

Below is a recap of the June 2023 Community AMA that took place on June 6th, 2023. In this Community AMA, we had with us Dillon Hanson, BD Manager, and Anze Noc, Community & DAO Lead at DIA. Lets take a look at what was discussed:

It has been a while since the Arbitrum airdrop. What are DIA’s plans for the usage of the received $ARB and when can we expect some news on this front?

We’ve been busy shaping our core-team proposal regarding the usage of the $ARB tokens, and we can’t wait to share it with our community on the forum! We’re in the home stretch now, and we’ll be announcing the proposal through all of our channels just as soon as it’s ready.

Following this, we’re opening up the proposal for lively discussions on the forum before advancing to the Snapshot for a community vote. We want to make this an open and engaging process, and this phase will give the community an opportunity to suggest alternative approaches or refinements to our core-team’s initial proposal. Please keep in mind that proposals should aim to support and have a positive effect on the overall DIA core operation.

We’re extremely excited to say that this should be happening in June. So keep an eye out — we’re very eager to push this out in the following weeks!

With such a rapid growth of AI and related tools, how did your team adapt and what are the plans of adopting AI for DIA?

We’re passionate advocates for the transformative power of AI. We truly believe that embracing and mastering this disruptive technology will allow organizations to lead the next wave of growth in a myriad of industries.

In the past few months, we’ve been delving deep into the potential of creating synergies between AI and Web3. We have identified several promising avenues to apply our data expertise in the oracle field to accelerate the adoption and utility of AI technology. We’re keeping some details under wraps as we’re still in stealth mode, but trust us, it’s thrilling!

We’re not stopping there, though. We’re also constantly exploring and planning how to embed AI into our product stack and our daily operations. This way, we aim to enhance our team’s efficiency, improve our work output, and maintain a continual learning curve with this innovative technology.

In other words, keep your eyes peeled for some AI-driven innovations from DIA!

If you have experience using AI for various kinds of automations and more complex process optimizations, please reach out to Anze or join the DIA DAO for potential opportunities.

Congrats on the recent integration with Coinbase’s Layer 2 Base and other big L2 names. Could you share a bit about the process that led to these integrations? Are there other big L1/L2 integrations pending and how does the DIA team decide which chains to integrate on first?

Thank you so much! As new L1/L2 are launched, the need for key infrastructure providers like oracles and RPCs providers is paramount. We’re always thrilled about expanding our product offering onto new, up-and-coming chains that show promise for widespread adoption.

In fact, I would like to share a quote from Jesse Pollak, Base Lead, that resonated with us during the deployment of DIA’s oracle suite onto base: “Reliable data is the lifeblood of the on-chain ecosystem — without it, some of the most significant use cases such as NFTs or DeFi couldn’t exist. We’re super excited to collaborate with DIA to make high-quality price feeds available for devs building on Base testnet, helping them stretch their imaginations and what they can build.”

In terms of the integration process, we place a great emphasis on fostering robust working relationships with blockchain foundations and teams across various ecosystems. We’ve observed how these partnerships, coupled with providing DIA’s building blocks as public good infrastructure, have spurred dApp growth and innovation in ecosystems that we collaborate with.

Is DIA planning or will attend IRL events in the upcoming months?

Absolutely! We understand that attending major conferences significantly bolsters our relationships with current partners and helps us meet new ones. Being geographically decentralized within the team allows us to make our presence felt at most of the major conferences worldwide, particularly in the U.S and Europe.

We’re eagerly looking forward to EthCC and Polkadot Decoded in the near future. We’re in the process of planning some exciting side-events during these conferences, which will help boost DIA’s visibility and traction within our existing and potential partnerships.

Plus, just yesterday we submitted a proposal for an official Polkadot Decoded viewing party in New York City and will now eagerly await a response from the Polkadot events committee! If there are other events you’re curious about whether we’re attending, do let us know! We’re always on the lookout for the best crypto conferences to attend around the world, and we value the DIA community’s insights on which events you think will be worthwhile.

What is the intended effect of these community collaborations via DIA Community Hub and are there plans to continue doing them with such pace?

Web3 is all about fostering collaboration among individuals, protocols, and organizations. By spearheading community collaborations, we aim to spotlight DIA among larger communities, ecosystems, and organizations.

These collaborations not only expand the DIA community, but also stimulate engagement and cooperation with some of the most innovative projects in the space. Plus, it gives our community a chance to learn about other projects, engage with them, and potentially be rewarded in the process.

We are always on the lookout for new potential partners for such collaborations, so don’t hesitate to reach out to me and propose your favourite ones to be approached next.

Are there any incentives to vote on DIA proposals on Snapshot or for holding DIA?

At present, there aren’t any special incentives for voting. However, an airdrop was conducted in January 2023 for those who voted in the previous year. As this was a community proposal, we can’t guarantee a repeat next year, but the decision lies in the hands of the community, and we’re excited to see how this will unfold!

Simultaneously, we’re investigating other innovative ways to encourage voting and we can’t wait to share those ideas with our community once they’re fully fleshed out. We’re also in close discussions with Snapshot to see how we can make the most of their infrastructure to create automated and efficient incentive strategies.

And lastly, voting for DIA proposals on Snapshot is free, and does not require any lockup for your DIA tokens. With DIA token primarily being a governance token, we do encourage anyone and everyone to exercise their voting power and help us make those decisions hand in hand with the community.

What is the current status of DIA DAO in terms of contributions and growth? What is the plan for going forward?

DIA DAO has been gradually maturing with regard to contributions, roles, and responsibilities. Given the current unpredictability of the markets and the slower-than-expected increase in interest in crypto, we’ll continue to maintain a lean approach to the growth and operation of the DIA DAO.

We are dedicated to improving our products, infrastructure, and adding intriguing features. While expanding our contributor base is always important, at this stage, our focus is more on initiatives that directly add value to our current operational and development needs.

Once the market shows more positive signals, and after our infrastructure is updated, we’re all set to ramp up our growth and marketing efforts. These will primarily be led through various DAO initiatives and roles. All that being said, we do nurture several regular roles and positions within the DIA DAO and are extremely satisfied and impressed with the performance of some of our contributors. So I would like to give a shoutout to all of those that actively contribute to our common goals and excel in what you are doing for the DIA DAO.

Where can I find information related to DIA’s tokenomics and team wallets, etc.?

All the details about the DIA token, including past token releases, burns, and allocations, can be found in our transparency report here: https://medium.com/dia-insights/transparency-report-1f61493ed9e5

We continually update the report when there are major changes, so you can always stay up-to-date!

About DIA

DIA is a multi-chain, end-to-end, open-source data and oracle platform for Web3. DIA’s data is directly sourced from a broad array of on-chain and off-chain sources at individual trade-level. This allows DIA feeds to be fully customized regarding the mix of sources and methodologies, resulting in tailor-made, high-resilience feeds and thereby setting a new paradigm for oracles.
