DIA is hosting a monthly Telegram AMA session with the core team. The aim of this monthly event is to improve direct communication between DIA and it’s community, by collecting community concerns and suggestions and having the DIA core team answer them.

Below is a recap of the May 2023 Community AMA that took place on May 2nd, 2023. In this Community AMA, we had with us Zygis Marazas, Product Lead, and Mikel Garcia, Content Lead at DIA. Lets take a look at what was discussed:

  1. Congrats on the recent integrations with zkSync and zkEVM. Is there a plan to get more involved in the ZK space and how?

We are really excited and determined to continue building in the ZK space. There are two streams where we are focusing to explore more opportunities:

Supporting dapps and protocols in the ZK ecosystem by providing reliable access to our data offering. We are already noticing lots of interest from dApp developers launching their protocols on zkSync and zkEVM.

Integrating ZKPs (Zero Knowledge Proofs) into our own data pipeline to ensure trust and safety of the data. Can’t specify all the details but you might have noticed that we are actively working with other protocols, such as Mina on how to make ZKPs an active part of our infrastructure.

2. Is DIA planning to take part in any hackathons and to what extent? Usually these are great for attracting new developers in the community…

Absolutely! We know how important hackathons are to the development of the ecosystem and our industry. Hackathons provide an excellent opportunity to onboard new developers to the ecosystem.

Just as an example, in a few weeks time, we will be supporting an Evmos hackathon providing a few demo oracles for price feeds and random number generation. We will share more information on this in the coming days.

Additionally, we are exploring other hackathons for the broader Web3 ecosystem that we will also be sharing in the coming weeks.

3. Can you share a bit more details about the nature of the latest partnership with Silo Finance, and to what extent they are going to be using DIA’s oracles?

Silo Finance (Arbitrum) is a non-custodial lending protocol that facilitates borrowing any crypto asset with another. While DIA’s oracles play a crucial role in lending and borrowing dApps, providing the protocols with real-time price information of digital assets. These price feeds enable lending features such as determining the market value of collateral or loans, enforcing over-collateralization rules to protect lenders and more.

Silo Finance was looking to expand their lending markets offering and decided to put its trust in DIA’s transparent price oracles. The integration was subject to a governance vote and the Silo community voted overwhelmingly in favour of this development, with 99% of the votes supporting the proposal.

We are really excited to continue building with Silo and other similar protocols!

4. I am a regular listener of both DAO talks and also joined the Liquid Dialogues episode with guests from LST protocols. Are these events planned to continue and what is the purpose of those as most guests have no relation with DIA?

Indeed we are not actively working with all organizations we host events with, but as some topics such as liquid staking and governance continue to gain importance, we see the need to bring together relevant market actors in the field, share knowledge and create synergy with a wider community. Previous editions of these talks had a very high interest and engagement with over 1000 listeners each, so yes, we will continue organising more!

In regards to Liquid Dialogues, it started as an extension of our Ultimate Liquid Staking Map, which was created by the DIA DAO Community, to further position DIA within the liquid staking arena and connect LST projects. In the latest edition, we had renowned projects of the likes of Bifrost, Marinade Finance, pStake, Stader and Geode joining in. It ended up being a very engaging and insightful session for both users and developers. We are already excited for the next one!

The DIA DAO community is doing an outstanding job creating content, organising panels and more. Definitely recommend following the account on Twitter: https://twitter.com/DIACommunityHub

5. Is DIA planning to announce more partnerships with projects on Arbitrum, similar to FactorDAO? Is there a plan to get more exposure to the Arbitrum ecosystem, given the growth in on-chain activity there?

Really excited that Arbitrum managed to attract the attention of developers with its major features such as High EVM compatibility, low cost and a high-growth ecosystem.

DIA has been in the ecosystem for a while already and we have been expanding our infrastructure to cater the needs of this growing ecosystem. As a result, we have integrated Arbitrum-native DEXs in the past weeks, including Uniswap, Sushiswap, Curve and Camelot DEXs.

In addition, our research and deployments continue to ensure that the DIA Platform and its products reach more developers. As a result, with strong price oracle coverage within the ecosystem, we are uniquely positioning DIA within the ecosystem and it is leading to a nice influx of oracle requests from dApps.

6. Is your team planning to or already using AI for your operations? Not just for development but also for marketing and communication? What do you feel is the main benefit and risk of the rise of AI?

Yes, we believe that AI can be used in many different ways, especially to boost productivity, improve the quality of the output and automate certain processes.

We are currently researching different AI tools and testing them for various cases for each department within DIA. We are already using ChatGPT and a few other tools in our day-to-day operations and we already saw a significant efficiency improvement in content creation, brainstorming, research, operations and more.

Once our research is completed, we might share the findings with the community.

7. Is there any plan to have more video content? If so, what kind? I believe video content is much more effective than written content.

We absolutely agree! Right now we are focusing on using video format to communicate technical information in a more approachable way. For example, we do have a series where DIA developers explain the technicalities behind our core products in front of the camera. We also upload to YouTube, the recordings of events and panels where DIA participated.

In the future, we also want to focus on more videos geared towards community building and brand awareness. We are excited about what the community has in mind — it would be very interesting to see community-produced content on DIA as well.

8. Hi, what can you share about the current status of tokenomics of DIA? I am interested in token unlocks, top holders and updates, etc.

Hi, you can find all tokenomics-related updates and definitions in our Transparency report https://medium.com/dia-insights/transparency-report-1f61493ed9e5

It is continuously updated and the last update was about 1,5 months ago. We have exciting future plans, which will also be reflected there, so make sure to revisit it from time to time!

About DIA

DIA is a multi-chain, end-to-end, open-source data and oracle platform for Web3. DIA’s data is directly sourced from a broad array of on-chain and off-chain sources at individual trade-level. This allows DIA feeds to be fully customized regarding the mix of sources and methodologies, resulting in tailor-made, high-resilience feeds and thereby setting a new paradigm for oracles.
