Venus is one of the weirdest planets in our beloved Solar System. No moons or rings though, it’s boring! Venus stands out for many other reasons, and it’s proud of it!
Not only does it spin backward compared to Earth and most other planets, but it also has the most unusual day-length.
I know it may sound like a paradox but a day on Venus is longer than its year!
In fact, to complete one rotation Venus takes 243 Earth days and only 225 to go around the Sun. The difference may not be whopping but it’s there.

Think about the chaos if we applied this to Earth!
You are working, and your boss tells you to finish a project by the end of the day, and you would answer, “Of course, see you next year!”
Birthdays would be super confusing as well! “Happy 3rd birthday, Mark”, “But Mum, I’m 45!
However, we would definitely appreciate things more than we do now. Think about the pressure to take a perfect sunset shot! If you miss it, you will have to wait for other 117 Earth days!

So, next time you’re complaining about not having enough hours in the day, just remember Venus, where tomorrow could be a lifetime away!
