After starting my journey through Argentina in its vibrant capital of Buenos Aires, followed by its Andean jewel of Mendoza, my adventure through the country of Lionel Messi and Diego Maradona finally culminated with the exploration of its most southern, coldest and perhaps most exotic region: Ushuaia, the world’s most Southern city and capital of the famous Tierra del Fuego (Land of fire) region.

With a small population of only 82615 people, Ushuaia is not only Argentina’s and the world’s most Southern city but also its regional capital city with the smallest population.

The extreme climate conditions obviously make life difficult for the locals, though, especially in the winter months of July and August, when temperatures don’t get above 0 degrees C during the daytime!

I was in town at the end of September, at the end of the winter season, but still, the warmest it got during my three days was six degrees!
