With its massive population of 21.2 million people and being the largest Spanish-speaking city in the world, it is safe to say that Mexico City, or CDMX, can be a bit overwhelming for first time visitors.

Before visiting Mexico’s gigantic capital, it is thus vital to know in which part of the city you are going to stay, especially if you only plan to stay for a few days, like most tourists do.

I have recently spend a combined total of 10 nights in Mexico City and still feel like having only scratched the surface of this incredible Megacity! You can find out more about that experience and my favourite things about Mexico City in the following Article : https://medium.com/globetrotters/mexico-city-my-new-favourite-megacity-dae8b78fb67b

The area you decide to stay in in CDMX depends hugely on what your plans and main objectives and reasons for visiting Mexico City are. As you can imagine, the choice is huge, but the absolute number one areas for tourists that visit CDMX for the first time can be scaled down to the number of 3: the Historic Centre, the Roma/Condesa
