Passive income — how much can you earn with DIMTOKENs and DNT? (UPDATE)
About 6 months ago I wrote “Passive income — how much can you earn with 50+ DIMTOKENs?” and the results were that with 50+ DIMTOKENs at that time, you could earn 1.5 USD or 6% each month passively if the volume in the DIM Ecosystem were 1 billion. You can read it here.
Since then the price of DIMTOKENs have increased in value and there have been many updates on the ecosystem and therefore I felt there is an interest in the community on how much is possible to earn passively with DIMTOKENs.
What is MAST?
Before we dig into the numbers it’s important to notice that there has been an update within the DIM Ecosystem where Gmex, Mindex and DIM are offering a Multi-asset stable token. With this MAST-IBO comes an airdrop to DIMTOKENs holders. You don’t have to participate in the IBO to be entitled to the airdrop.
How much can you earn with only DIMTOKENs?
In the last post, I covered how much you can earn with only 50+ Tokens. This time I will do the calculation with 999 DIMTOKENs. Remember that DIMTOKEN holders will receive 30% of the collected fees from the transfer volume within the DIM Ecosystem.
Let’s assume the volume within the DIM Ecosystem is 1,000,000,000 USD:
Fees in total: 1,000,000
DIMTOKENs holders fees(30%): 300,000
Fee distributed to each token(10m tokens): 0.03
With 999 DIMTOKENs you will receive 29.97 USD each month.
The current price for DIMTOKENs is very volatile at the moment so for this example I will assume that 1 DIMTOKEN cost 1 USD.
To buy the 999 DIMTOKENs you must pay 999 USD. With the 29.97 USD in income each month, your dividend each month will be 3% or equal to 36% in a year.
How much can you earn with DIMTOKENs and DIM Node Tokens?
As mentioned there will be an airdrop to the DIMTOKEN holders that hold more than 1,000 DIMTOKENs. The airdrop will look like this:
- More than 1,000 DIM Tokens = 1 x DIM NT totaling to 1,000 DIM NT
- More than 3,000 DIM Tokens = 3 x DIM NT totaling to 9,000 DIM NT
- More than 5,000 DIM Tokens = 5 x DIM NT totaling to 25,000 DIM NT
If you hold DNT you will be entitled to receive 40% of the fees generated within the Ecosystem*. There are 250,000,000 DNT in supply.
For this example, I will use 5,000 DIMTOKENs and 25,000 DNT in the calculation.
Again let’s assume the volume within the DIM Ecosystem is 1,000,000,000 USD:
Fees in total: 1,000,000
DIMTOKENs holders fees: 300,000
DNT holders fees: 400,000
Fees for DIMTOKENs distributed to each token: 0.03
Fees for DNT distributed to each token: 0.0016
Total fees DIMTOKENs: 150
Total fees DNT: 40
With 5,000 DIMTOKENs and 25,000 DNT you will receive 190 USD each month.
Again the current price for DIMTOKENs is 1 USD so the investment needed to achieve above is 5,000 USD. The DNT will you receive for free in the airdrop.
With the USD in income each month, your dividend each month will be 3.8% or 45,6% in a year.
The above calculation does not include the value of the DNT given free. DNT can be sold freely on the market sometime after the airdrop.
