Down on the Bayou
On 10/21/17, nine writers from the U. of New Orleans MFA program kayaked Shell Bank Bayou in SE Louisiana to Lake Maurepas. Often, the tangled vegetation made it hard going. But they all made it to the lake — and back — in good spirits and undaunted. Here are their reflections.
Note from the editor

On Saturday, October 21, nine writers in the University of New Orleans’ MFA program kayaked down Shell Bank Bayou in southeastern Louisiana to Lake Maurepas. At times, due to tangled and thick vegetation, the going wasn’t easy. They all made it to the Lake — and back — in bright spirits and undaunted. These stories reflect what they saw and thought about.
