2017: A year in review for Drawboard
In 2017, Drawboard made a statement with Bullclip: it is here to stay. We proved that with both Drawboard PDF and Bullclip, we have unique software for every modern design, construction and document heavy team out there. Teams finally have a way to adopt a system that can adequately replace their pen and paper trail, or replace their ageing desktop PDF programs in favour for a user-centric solution .
Drawboard PDF — much more to come
Our thousands and thousands of active Drawboard PDF users told us how the application gave them hours back in their day, saved many trees, and enhanced their quality of work. Your feedback has been heard and we’re putting it into development, so expect some big updates in the near future.
Drawboard PDF has always had strong focus on digital touch and pen devices, however our team are now working on making the application a more powerful system that can also be used optimally on keyboard and mouse desktops too. We hope you like what we come out with soon!
Bullclip — a differentiated PDF collaboration service
About a year ago we launched Bullclip — our PDF collaboration platform for design and construction teams. It’s the first web and cross platform PDF system that supports pressure sensitive inking on PDFs in real-time. This year, we’ve worked hard with our customers and partners and Bullclip has evolved fast (Rowan, Bullclip’s Head of Product, goes into detail here).
Bullclip has proven it has found a differentiated place in the market; the first born-in-the-cloud markup collaboration system that has a suite of web and mobile interfaces, supporting digital ink in both Windows 10 and iOS environments. With Bullclip’s powerful cloud platform, you can expect powerful additions around integrations, hyperlinking, communication, photos, issues and team management soon.
One of the partners we have worked closely with is Brogue Consulting Engineers. The Brogue team have been using in Bullclip to markup and sketch on engineering drawings, both in the office or on site. They’re able to work collaboratively in real time with consultants in different offices alongside other engineering software.
Staying relevant for you for the future
Looking ahead in 2018, we are striving to solve the needs of teams looking to modernize their digital and mobile workflow with a powerful combination of Drawboard PDF and Bullclip. Some teams will need only Drawboard PDF, some will need only Bullclip, and others will need both. We are looking at how teams can effectively use both products, and possibly integrate with each other to unlock even further productivity gains.
One popular topic for design and construction technology is how solutions fit into the broader ecosystem of other solutions. As Bullclip is a collaborative team system, data flow is very important and that is why we are working hard on creating Bullclip with an integrations focus. We’ve been working with partners to integrate with popular third party systems and this will be one of our core future focuses. Whether it’s with other document storage, markup programs, or authoring programs — we want to play nice so our customers get what they need!
In addition, we recognise that the past years in the world of construction drawings and documents have largely involved a combination of paper and digital 2D. However, we see most recent and future years as largely a combination of digital 2D and 3D. We want to be part of that and help transition into a world of integrated 3D, which we are actively thinking about.
