The Cafe at Books and Books
This neighbourhood joint, Cafe at Books and Books is perfect for anyone looking for a quiet retreat to relax with a good book and sip at some delicious coffee. Books and Books’ cafe acts as a hub for a community of book lovers and aims to offer a diverse and creative selection of books as well as a great menu featuring healthy and tasty produce. The cafe offers a deliciously diverse menu, with dishes ranging from Key West Crab Cakes to a Miami Cheesesteak Sandwich to their Coconut Crusted Seared Tuna Sashimi. Rouge
Rouge whips up a unique combination of French and Moroccan cuisine to please the tastebuds. They offer traditional French dishes — their Coq au Vin is made with free-range poussin with wine, lardons, button mushrooms and fresh pasta and is a real culinary treat. They also cook up a delicious dish of Vol au Vent d’Escargots au Pastis, sauteed snail, wrapped in a crisp puff pastry shell. Their fantastic Moroccan dishes include tagines and flavourful dishes like Kefta Mkaouara, mouth-watering lamb meatballs.
The Lost and Found Saloon
The guys at The Lost and Found Saloon serve up tasty dishes with a side of chilled out vibes and friendly atmosphere. Tuck into dishes straight from the southwest: pick from classic comfort foods including ribs, shrimp, burgers, tacos and a great choice of vegan food. Don’t fill up too early though, The Lost and Found Saloon does a mean line in decadent desserts — the jumbo cookies come in a variety of flavors and their Caramel Cheesecake with Coconut Glazed Cashews is nothing short of divine. They open crazy late too.
Fly Boutique
Fly Boutique is Miami’s secret haunt for all things vintage. Pick up vintage threads from designer names such as Dior, Gucci, Chanel, Missoni and Louis Vuitton, then strut down the streets of Miami feeling like a million bucks. Keep your eyes open and you can also spot a few vintage additions for the home too — plush velvet couches, rotary phones and antique lamps galore. In addition to the vintage pieces, Fly Boutique also sell a range of clothing, jewellery and bespoke pieces created by Jean Marie, co-owner of the boutique.
Bodega
Bodega serve up flavour-bursting Mexican street food bursting with exciting and creative flavor combinations.The interior is kitted out like a taco truck — with vibrant colors to match the food. Chef Bernie Matz is the man behind the menu — he’s put a modern twist on traditional Yucatan and Monterrey flavors. Expect Shrimp Po Boy tacos, burritos with BBQ carnitas and fresh ceviche. You can also sample their range of cocktails and speciality shots to really embrace the jovial atmosphere of Bodega.
A&M Comics
Step back in comic book history with A&M Comics with their vintage comic books and collectibles. You can pretty much find any comic published in the last 50 years — snap up new issues as they come out and find the classics missing from your collection.
Boater’s Grill
Boater’s Grill used to provide a hideaway for pirates and smugglers and now serves as a refuge for hungry guests. Their menu boasts a great selection of fresh seafood, accompanied by a beautiful view over the enigmatically named “No Name Harbor”. Tuck into the Boaters Grill’s Conch Fritters, tasty langoustines, tender snapper and moorish seafood paella. To finish of you fishy feast you can enjoy a mango or guava cheesecake, rice pudding or their homemade flan, taken straight from grandma’s recipe book.
Cafe Roval
Cafe Roval is tucked in an intimate location, discreetly hidden behind an ornate metal gate surrounded by lush greenery. Originally a a pump house, restaurateur Mark Soyka took this coral-rock and wood house and transformed it into the unique restaurant it is today. Serving up creative and tempting dishes, such as Veal Osso Bucco, Double Deco Oxtail Bun and Kaluga caviar,you’ll be hard pushed not to be charmed by Cafe Roval. Just don’t tell too many of your friends.
Luke’s Lobster
Luke’s Lobster prides itself on selling the freshest seafood from a sustainable source. They maintain the ethos of supporting their local fisherman and ensure the preservation of their fisheries so they can keep on serving delicious seafood to their guests. As the name would suggest, lobster is the star of the show here at Luke’s — take your pick from the menu featuring meals like Lobster Grilled Cheese, Lobster Roll and Chilled Lobster Tail. Wash down with a local brew and finish of with a glorious dessert.
