The Dtravel DAO Introduction
The Dtravel journey started with a shared vision by its core contributors from the travel and blockchain industries of what home sharing could be like in a Web3 world. We imagined a world where home sharing hosts and guests are given a voice to engage at all levels with the platforms they use.
“Dtravel enables community members to work together to build and realize the full potential of a new home sharing experience.”
This bold vision is one that speaks to many. Within just a few months, Dtravel has attracted 30+ contributors and advisors from some of the world’s largest home sharing platforms, online travel sites, and cryptocurrency projects.
Our mission is to create new organizational structures that enable our community members to both provide and capture value, whether economic or societal. We define community members as anyone holding TRVL tokens. And we want to ensure that you, and as many hosts and guests as possible, are community members.
To achieve this, Dtravel is establishing a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO), known as the Dtravel DAO.
To understand our vision of what Dtravel believes the future of home sharing looks like, we wrote the Dtravel Manifesto, which shares how a home sharing platform in the Web3 world looks different, why it is needed, and how Dtravel is building this future.

Dtravel DAO Community Member Commitment
Dtravel DAO has the audacious goal to compete with the corporate-owned enterprises in the home sharing economy, and in the process become one of the largest Decentralized Autonomous Organisations.
To ensure the alignment of the long-term vision of the Dtravel DAO with that of the Dtravel community, it is important to ensure that both hosts and guests have TRVL tokens which enables them to have a voice and vote, participating in the governance of the Dtravel platform.
To achieve this, Dtravel DAO has allocated 90,000,000 TRVL tokens, (9% of total supply of TRVL tokens) to be distributed as rewards to hosts and guests.

DAO Funds
At the TRVL Token Generation Event (TGE), 50% of the total TRVL supply will be allocated to the Community Treasury (25%) and Community Growth Fund (25%). These tokens will vest over 48 month and 60 month periods, respectively.
Community Treasury, Community Growth Fund & Protection Pool
The Representative Council decided to separate the DAO-managed resources into three funds: (1) the Community Treasury, (2) the Community Growth Fund, and (3) the Protection Pool. This provides two advantages: first, each of these funds has a focused objective on what activities they fund, and second, the separation enables each fund, in the future, to elect their own Representative Councils, further assisting in the decentralization of the control of Dtravel as the ecosystem grows.
Initially, the Representative Council will be responsible for all three of these funds.
Community Treasury
The Community Treasury funds are allocated toward operational expenses and grants related to the development and management of the Dtravel platform and associated services; funding the Grants DAO, Community DAO as well facilitating Governance participation
The Community Treasury receives funding at the TGE as well as perpetual funding from Dtravel’s booking fees. These funds may be received in multiple fiat currencies as well as popular cryptocurrencies.
Holding a diverse reserve of currencies enables the Community Treasury to provide Treasury-as-a-Service functions for internal funding and grant requirements, and to swap TRVL against its own diverse assets and/or buy and sell TRVL on the market as needed.
Community Growth Fund
The Community Growth Fund is focused on driving adoption and growth of the Dtravel platform. To facilitate this the funds has committed to spending 90,000,000 TRVL (9% of the TRVL supply) as rewards to community members.

Protection Pool
The purpose of the Protection Pool is to ensure that all properties hosting on Dtravel have assistance available in the event that damages which are beyond the settlement of the guest occur (subject to terms and conditions).
The Protection Pool will initially be funded with 1,000,000 TRVL tokens from the Community Treasury. To ensure the long-term sustainability of the pool, 1% of every booking made on the Dtravel platform will be allocated to the Protection Pool.
The Protection Pool will be managed by a dedicated Protection Pool team. Over time, it is envisioned that community members will participate in the Protection Pool team through the Community DAO Support-to-Earn program.
Governance Structure
Representative Council
Representative Council members and Council Advisors comprise early contributors and community members with expertise and experience across home sharing platforms, online travel networks, crypto travel platforms, treasury management, DAOs, and tech.
The inaugural Representative Council was elected by the early contributors. The Representative Council members are also community members and TRVL token holders.
There will be elections held for additional members and to replace existing members each Epoch. Details relating to elections and nominations will be made available prior to elections.
Representative Council responsibilities:
The Representative Council has several key responsibilities including managing and updating the parameters of the Dtravel platform and operations (e.g., fees, givebacks, and multiplication factors for NFTs); Ensuring inclusiveness and an equal opportunity for all community members to participate in the governance process; Approving grants from the Grants DAO and Community DAO and the fiduciary responsibilities of the Community Treasury, Community Growth Fund and Protection Pool.
Governance
Since Dtravel is a DAO, community members (TRVL token holders) can choose to participate directly in the development and success of Dtravel by contributing to the dialogue regarding product, platform and ecosystem improvements through governance communication channels; Voting on Dtravel Improvement Proposals (“Dtravel IPs”) or even submitting Dtravel IPs in the future.
It is important to acknowledge that as Dtravel grows, many new members will join as either hosts and/or guests on the Dtravel platform with limited knowledge of blockchain technology. Therefore, tools and resources will be developed and used to enable equal opportunity for the participation of all members.
Grants DAO & Community DAO
Dtravel has audacious goals to become one of the largest DAOs operating outside of the crypto-native economy.
As Dtravel grows, so will its level of decentralization for resource allocation and operational functions. Initially, the Grants DAO and the Community DAO will be managed by early contributors.
Over time, as Dtravel grows its member base, both the Grants DAO and the Community DAO can elect their own Representative Councils and secure funding to operate autonomously from the Community Treasury and Community Growth Fund, further assisting in the decentralization of the control of Dtravel as the ecosystem grows.
Grants DAO
The Grants DAO will be to facilitate the application, issuance, and reporting of grants to the Dtravel community.
The approval of proposals will be decided by the Representative Council. The grant funds will be provided by the Community Treasury.
The Grants DAO will also support the Representative Council by facilitating Dtravel Improvement Proposals (Dtravel IPs), governance discussions, voting participation and reporting.
All grant applications need to demonstrate that they add value to the Dtravel platform and/or ecosystem. Any community member can apply for a grant by submitting a Grants DAO application.
Community DAO
The Community DAO is focused on decentralizing and incentivizing workflow within the Dtravel ecosystem. This includes facilitating self-selecting work initiatives, such as Dtravel’s Support-to-Earn initiative.
Support-to-Earn enables community members to become contributors and/or ambassadors by exchanging their time, expertise and loyalty for TRVL tokens with real value. The initiative can be applied across many aspects of Dtravel, from community building and forum hosting to various aspects of customer support and operations, as well as educating and helping new members joining Dtravel. More information on Dtravel’s Support-to-Earn program will be published in the near future.
Dtravel DAO evolution
As Dtravel grows its member base, the network design will allow both the Grants DAO and the Community DAO to elect their own Representative Councils and secure their own funding to operate autonomously from the Community Treasury and Community Growth Fund. This process will further assist in the decentralization of the control of Dtravel as the ecosystem grows.
Note: The structure and mechanics of the DAO contained herein are intended to evolve from time to time. DAO operations may therefore be subject to change as voted on by the Dtravel DAO and DAO Representative Council.
