DuckDAO’s new launchpad DuckSTARTER is a service platform for public tokens, allowing individuals to get involved in new and emerging blockchain projects. It is one of the final steps before the project officially goes public, serving as the bridge between early-stage projects and the community.
In order to participate in some token sales, you will need to go through a KYC (Know Your Customer) verification process to confirm your identity.
Fortunately, it is an easy and simple process!
1. Initial Setup
To begin, navigate to the DuckSTARTER homepage here — and once you are there, go to the top of the page and click Unlock Wallet.
Your MetaMask wallet should automatically open. Type in your password, click Unlock and authorize your Ethereum address to have permission to interact with the DuckDAO launchpad.
Once complete, you should be redirected to the page below. When you see this screen, click on KYC your Wallet now to begin the process.
This will take you to Blockpass, a 3rd-party KYC service that processes your information.
Click the Verify with Blockpass and you will begin the KYC process.
2. Submission of Identity Documents
Before you begin, you will need to have one of the following: a passport, national ID, or driving license.
Accompanying this, you will also be required to provide proof of address and need to be at least 18 years of age.
You can click on “List of supported documents” to see which countries are supported for each respective identification document.
Once you’re all set and you’ve made your choice, click Start to begin.
Start by entering your email and click Continue.
There will be a link that is sent to your email address — log in and click the link to be redirected back to Blockpass.
You will now be given 3 options to verify your first piece of identification — select Passport, National ID, or Driving License. For National ID and Driving License, you will first need to select the country where your ID originates from; if you select Passport, this is not required.
Next, you will be asked to take a photo of your ID; ensure your computer camera is on and click Launch Camera to take a picture of the document per the instructions on the page.
It is imperative to have good lighting and take a HIGH-RESOLUTION IMAGE of the document — if the photo quality is not high enough, the image will be rejected and you will need to try again.
To complete the rest of the “identity documents” section, you will need to take a selfie and picture of proof of address (i.e. utility bill, bank statement) from within the last 3 months.
Once you have finished uploading your document, you will be directed to the page below.
3. Fill Out Personal Information
Here you need to fill out the “personal info” section.
Input your first and last name, date of birth, residential address, and your Ethereum wallet address.
After you’ve completed filling everything out, scroll to the bottom and click Register.
You will see a confirmation page indicating that you’ve completed the KYC process and that your application is undergoing review/approval.
Blockpass will also send you an email (pictured below) noting that your identity has been submitted. You will receive an additional email from the team if your application has been approved or if more information is required for submission.
Additionally, you can keep track of the current status of your application by clicking Check your registration status.
Note: After your KYC information is accepted and verified by Blockpass, the DuckSTARTER account page will not update.

4. Lock-in DUCK Tokens
After you’ve received confirmation that your KYC has been approved, navigate to the DuckSTARTER account page here.
Please ensure your MetaMask wallet is still open and connected to the launchpad. Next, scroll to the bottom and click Lock-in under “Available Balance.”
A popup window will appear where you can select how many DUCK tokens you want to lock-in; input the amount and click Approve.
Your MetaMask wallet window will pop up asking you to allow DuckSTARTER to spend your DUCK. Please note that you will incur a transaction fee for this request. When you are ready, click Confirm, and you should be all set! Your available DUCK balance will display on the DuckSTARTER account homepage.
Tiers are an important part of the DuckSTARTER platform. A minimum of Bronze tier is required to be able to use the platform for most projects, with the highest tier receiving the greatest benefits.
