At this step of the customer journey, online retailers can help the customers with:

  • add the loyalty card and provide the information about it, or even the option to create this card,
  • add the promo code, with information for the customers on how to get it,
  • save products to favorites/shopping list,
  • recommendation of the products to complement the cart,
  • manage the cart.

In the current part, we describe the features of 9 retailers as Pingo Doce store skips the cart step.

Only Continente allows adding the loyalty card at the step of the checking cart.

But no store has a proper description of the advantages of having a loyalty card, information on how to get a loyalty card or instant generation of a loyalty card.

Auchan, Continente, El Corte Inglés and Intermarché display products in the cart, grouped by categories.

All retailers show the total amount of the cart. In addition, Auchan El Corte Inglés, Froiz and Mini Preço highlight the cost of delivery/picking up or showing that it’s for free. Apolonia, Auchan, Continente and Intermarché present the total quantity of the customer’s product in the cart.

Continente and Mini Preço show the total amount of discount for all products in the cart. Auchan and Continente inform customers of the bag quantity needed to pack the products and how much they will cost.
