A number of milestones have been reached recently in the ECOMI ecosystem. After the successful deployment of the ECOMI contract and token generation event, we rolled straight into our IEO and sold out in just under 12 hours! With these events behind us, it is time to manage the distribution of OMI tokens to the GoChain addresses provided. So without further ado, here is how to access your OMI tokens!
Viewing Your OMI Balance with the GoChain Wallet
Before we go too far, I want to point out that these instructions are only for people who used the official GoChain Wallet. That is to say if you generated a wallet at https://explorer.gochain.io/wallet.
I also want to make it clear that the user experience with the GoChain wallet will get better with time, ECOMI is the first IEO to take place on the GoChain platform, and as such we are working together to improve the wallet experience for all.
If you used Trust wallet, we have received reports that the OMI token shows up without needing additional input. If you have used any other wallet you will need to contact their support, or in most cases enter the OMI contract address and your tokens will be visible (when it is released).
For everyone who created an official GoChain wallet, please follow these instructions to access your OMI tokens!
- Visit the GoChain explorer https://explorer.gochain.io/wallet and hit ‘open wallet.’
Please ensure you have the correct website and use a private/incognito window to prevent any extensions reading your private key. - Click ‘Open Wallet’ and enter your private key.
Remember: NEVER show your private key to anyone! - Note the ‘address for key’ section. You will need this if you want to send OMI (or other Go tokens) to your GoChain wallet.

4. Scroll down and click ‘Owned Tokens’ and you will see your OMI token balance, as well as the OMI contract address (in blue).

By clicking on this address you can explore all the transactions that have and will occur using the ECOMI smart contract!
How to Send Your OMI Tokens
Now that you can view your balance, let’s discuss how to send your OMI tokens. By following these instructions you’ll be able to send your tokens to the exchange, or to other people/wallets.
In the next Secure Wallet app update, you’ll also be able to move your OMI tokens into cold storage!
To get started, once again visit the GoChain explorer https://explorer.gochain.io/wallet and hit ‘open wallet.’
Again: please ensure you have the correct website and use a private/incognito window to prevent any extensions reading your private key.
Then, scroll down and follow these instructions. Each step is indicated by the same number in the images below.
- Click ‘Use contract’
- Enter OMI contract address- if you followed the instructions above you will be able to copy/paste this from your ‘view address’ screen, or using the one below.

4. Select ‘Transfer(to, value) from the drop-down menu
5. Enter the address you wish to send your OMI tokens to in the ‘to’ section.
Please ensure this address is correct and compatible to receive Go20 tokens! If you enter the wrong address you may lose your OMI!
6. Enter the amount of OMI you would like to send in the ‘Amount (OMI)’ field.
Note: the ‘raw’ amount is just the whole amount without the decimal. You do not need to enter anything into this field, it will update as you enter the whole amount of OMI to send.
7. The ‘Gas’ is the fee to send the transaction across the network. It will update automatically depending on current network congestion/processing times.
There are two things you need to be aware of here.
(1). The amount you see is still ‘raw.’ That is to say, it does not have the decimal included (at this time). So please don’t panic if you see a 5 digit number and think you’re going to spend that much to send your tokens, it is and always will work out to be fractions of a cent.
(2). You need to have GO tokens in your GoChain Wallet to use as Gas. As OMI is a Go20 token, Go tokens are used to pay the network fees.
8. Hit ‘Submit’ and your transaction will take place. Owing to the speed of the GoChain network your OMI tokens will be received within a matter of seconds!
That’s it! You have now successfully viewed your balance, and sent your tokens. Keep in mind to send additional tokens in the future you will also need to keep some GO in your wallet. We’ll release additional instructions with the next Secure Wallet update to walk you through how to send/receive your OMI tokens there, and keep them as safe as physically possible!
