eGem.studio is an NFT development and publishing studio on the eGem blockchain. We develop and release our own NFTs, as well as publish on behalf of collaborating artists.

Studio services

Some of the services to be offered to third-party NFT artists include:

  • building NFT files and metadata
  • deployment of NFT content and JSON metadata files to IPFS
  • development, deployment, and verification of NFT smart contract
  • marketing and promotion of newly released NFT collections

Operational structure

eGem Studio will have two types of releases/series:

  • self-releases
  • third-party releases

Self-release

Self-releases are launches made by the eGem.studio team. 100% of all funds and tokens will go to eGem.studio.

Third-party release

Third-party releases are launches done by the studio for independent artists. More details about third-party artist releases will be published soon.

Development planned for the future

VR showroom

A VR showroom where NFTs can be rendered in the metaverse as exhibits. Here is a demonstration with the Cute Teddies collection (on Polygon).

3D modeling for NFTs

Building 3D models for collections that support metaverse upgrade. This will allow NFTs to be fully 3D objects which could be used as real metaverse items.

The Cute OWL collection does support metaverse upgrades.

Printing on demand

This service will allow NFT holders to print their art on t-shirts, cups, anything, and get it shipped!

Maybe you could even 3D print your NFTs!

Please note, not all NFTs may be able to access all of these features. Also, we cannot guarantee that metaverse upgrades will be free of charge. Upgraded will be the responsibility of the NFT’s author.

Activities

Cute Owl NFTs
Cute Owls NFTs

The Cute Owl collection which I had originally released as a solo project will become a third-party release.

As highlighted above,

  • the studio will keep 3% of all OWLs and 3% of all fees from minting
  • the author(Kafui Venu) will receive 97% of the total minting fees

These awesome OWL NFTs are only going for less than $1! You might want to grab a couple while they are still cheap?!

Pivoting into a studio

I initially started the projects as eGems.arts a personal project. However, I soon realized that it would be more beneficial to the community if it served a broader base.

This is why the project is evolving to be able to service other artists. This way, I will separate my personal interests from the project, allowing it to run fully as an independent project.

This will also allow it to be included in an ecosystem — the eGem Labs ecosystem. eGem Labs is an ecosystem of intriguing projects building on the eGem blockchain.

As part of the change, eGems.art has been rebranded into eGem.studio.

Obvious questions

Will Cute OWL be updated?

Yes. The JSON metadata will be updated to reflect the new publisher/author relationship. Other relevant information will be updated as well.

As a holder, you need not do anything. As a potential minter, you need not do anything either. These changes will not affect your tokens in any way.

What happens to the bells and whistles?

The promises made to the minters of Cute OWL still stand. They will cover collections released by:

  • by the respective author
  • the project itself (self-released)

Specifically:

  • minters of Cute Owl will enjoy airdrop from future releases by the author Kafui Venu or the studio’s team
  • holders will be able to exchange their tokens for other NFTs in future releases by Kafui Venu or the studio’s team

In addition to these, they will also enjoy other benefits which are common to all NFTs published by them or on behalf of third-party artists.

These benefits stem from being a part of the eGem Labs ecosystem. They will include a promotion, unparalleled utility, a strong community, and tight integration with our other projects.

Won’t there be a conflict of interest?

No. These terms are not exclusive. These benefits will apply to future releases by the studio or third-party artists, though their terms may not be the same.

Won’t my work on other chains become a distraction?

No. As I said in my briefer, working on multiple chains will actually allow me to share resources and experiences.

Building a strong team for each project is a major priority. Each of these projects will have its dedicated teams soon enough.

Roadmap

The current roadmap for eGem.studio is:

  • Promote and get our current NFT collection (Cute Owl) minted out
  • Complete the transition to support third-party artist releases
  • Expand the team
  • Build utilities for our NFTs
