Eidoo wallet step-by-step guide

The Italian version of this guide can be found here: https://medium.com/eidoo/eidoo-wallet-come-usare-la-app-di-eidoo-per-ethereum-e-i-token-erc20-cab94e2787c0

The following guide will show you how to use the Eidoo wallet, after downloading the app on your Android or iOS device.

Eidoo app on Google Play

We will do this guide by using an Android device, but the process is the same if you use an iPhone too.

  1. When you download the app for the first time, you will be asked to follow a wizard with basic information related to the Eidoo wallet. Please read all info carefully.

2. Then, a new page will appear. Click on “Create a new Wallet” to create a new address.

4) This new page will appear. Here you need to set a password to control the access to your wallet.

You must remember it because you won’t be able to reset or recover it. Also, we won’t be able to recover it for you.

Eidoo wallet: how to create your password

5. After entering your password, you have to backup your wallet. This backup phrase will protect your funds and can be used to restore your digital currencies and tokens if your device will be lost or damaged, or if you forget the password.

To make this backup, you will only need to write down on paper a 12-word set and store it in a safe place.

We suggest to store it in a safe, and not to keep this backup phrase on your device.

A list of 12 words will appear in the language of your phone, and then you will be asked to write them in the right order for the “Verification Time” to complete the backup process.

Once you will successfully end the process, the following message will appear on your device.

Eidoo backup is needed!

6. Now you are ready to deposit your ETH and tokens. To do so, you need to click on the QR code symbol in the top right corner of the app, as you can see below.

7. If you click on the QR code symbol, you will see both the address and the QR code associated with your address.

Please note: this address is the only one you need to receive and deposit Ethereum (ETH) and all ERC20 and ERC223 tokens.

To share your address, you just need to click on the sharing symbol highlighted in the picture below.

How to transfer tokens from Eidoo to a third-party platform

  1. In the “Your Assets” page, you can read the list of the available tokens in your wallet. This is the main page of the app, as you can see in the pic below:

2. Click on the asset you want to transfer. E.g., click on the “Eidoo Token.” The following image represents the new page that will appear to you:

3. Click on the black “Transfer” button.

4. In this page, you will be able to set the recipient address you want to send tokens to, the amount you want to transfer, and the Ethereum Gas Price.

How to set the Ethereum Gas Price

As you can see highlighted in the picture above, once you landed on the “Transfer” page you will see an option called “Advanced.”

Click on this “Advanced” button to see the Ethereum GAS price settings.

Here, you will be able to set the transaction priority and the GAS limit.

How to change your password

In the footer of the “Your assets” page, you will be able to see a blue menu.
Click on “Preferences.”

On this page, you can change your password, backup your wallet, reset application and nonce, send us a report, and force token enrollment.

  • Change Password: here you can change the password to enter in the app.
  • Backup wallet: here you can recover your 12-word set. They are always the same.
  • Reset application: click here if you want to delete all info stored in your app: contacts, tokens, transactions history will be deleted. If you want to restore them back, you can use the 12-word set (backup phrase).
  • Reset nonce: use this option only if our support team ask you to do it. It is related to transactions priority.
  • Send us a report: if you experience a bug or any issue, you can send us a report through this method.
  • Force token enrollment: If your transaction is correct by reading data on Etherscan, but it doesn’t appear on Eidoo, you can click here to force the transaction to be shown.
