John Carroll students cover elections in Northeast Ohio
Note from the editor
Journalism students cover the 2020 presidential-year election (focused on issues, not candidates), the 2018 midterm elections (the traditional way, focused on candidates) and 2016 presidential-year elections (focused on candidates) in Northeast Ohio. This site started with the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland, then students in fall 2016 and 2018 covered local candidates for county, state and federal office. In 2016, some wrote on the presidential race as well as key election issues. In 2020, we took a different approach and interviewed campus groups to identify issues they raised, then looked for candidates’ views on those issues.
