Elipay presentation grabs attention at DIGGIT
Diggit is the biggest Slovenian digital communication conference, bringing together established domestic and international experts, best practices and the latest innovations for a seventh year in a row. It took place on 12 June, and Eligma participated in the 2017 digital innovations category with a presentation of Elipay, delivered by Project Lead Mitja Hegler.
We could say that the stage was sort of being prepared for Eligma as the day went by because Eligma was already mentioned in several other presentations. This is clearly the time when cryptocurrencies are entering the general awareness not only as an abstract online phenomenon but also as one about to enter our daily lives.
Hegler’s presentation focused on the basics of operation of Elipay and its advantages, one of them being that it enables payments with different cryptocurrencies while merchants receive payments in fiat and are thus not taking any risks regarding the volatily of cryptocurrencies. Elipay enables the fastest transactions and has the lowest fees for merchants in comparison to other similar crypto payment services. Conveniently, the presentation took place one day after the start of the three-month Elipay testing at the stores of the BTC City shopping center. In this, Hegler showed a video on the vision of changing BTC City into blockchain-embracing Bitcoin City, the first of its kind at the global level.
The presentation was very well received and Hegler received questions both on and off the stage. Elipay aims to work extremely hard to establish a unique market position as a user-friendly and extremely mainstream-oriented application, and it seems to have caught the moment of being at the right place at the right time.
