Elk Rush Avalanche starts this week, our Ethereum deployment too, dApp updates, and a literary birthday: Welcome to Lodge Letter #40

At Elk we are concentrating on building the ElkNet into the best bridge it can possibly be, without rushing and without compromising on quality or safety. Interoperability across chains in a secure, decentralized and fast way. Nothing is more important to us. It is our focus.

Shakespeare got it right when he said: “What need the bridge much broader than the flood? The fairest grant is the necessity.” We agree, so we are building ElkNet to get the job done. That is the goal. Each iteration is a step closer to that goal.

“How poor are they that have not patience!”

There have been a couple of Bard quotes sprinkled in here now, it is his birthday after all! In homage to this fact:

ElkDex, ElkNet, ElkRush, ElkThis, ElkThat.

Soon Eth, then Arb, Opt too, so much, it’s fact.

AVAX campaign, for you and me, a treat!

Halving, boosters, we’ll make and send a tweet.

Ask us queries, listen, learn and wonder.

What on earth is next for Elk you ponder.

V2 ElkNet update running, no quirks.

Fees low, speed high, looks smart, sixteen networks.

What’s that? Cross-chain swaps are on the roadmap?

A new feather ready for the Elk cap!

And now it is time to bid thee farewell,

Elk dApp updates resist Shakesepare’s word spell.

(It’s just a little quasi-iambic pentameter fun!)

Elk dApp Updates

Following the successful transition to the new user interface, we haven’t paused the development of the dApp look, feel and function. On the contrary, see below for a collection of recent improvements:

Improved

  • New layout mobile menu
  • Added 404 page for incorrect URLs
  • Added tokens logo on background based on chosen tokens
  • Removed lottery field from Upgrade UI (congratulations to the lucky winners!)
  • Added accept Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy on Wallet connect popup
  • Moved from hardcoded fee on ElkNet to fee from blockchain
  • Added the button “Add ELK to MetaMask” on the “Your ELK breakdown” modal
  • Added Slippage Tolerance on confirmation Swap modal
  • Removed the “Save” button in “Transaction Settings” modal in Swap because it saves changes on the go
  • Added Tablet adaptation when screen resolution is less than 990 px

Fixed

  • Fixed USD tokens price for tokens with liquidity

Ethereum is coming. Later this week. Once we are live we do hope to see a wild flurry of social media activity from our loyal community.

Quite simply it would be great if we can inform both our current EVM residence, and our new Ethereum world, about how they can use the ElkNet to move between the first smart contract chain and all the offspring it has fathered.

Spread the Elk word. You can do, we will do it, let’s do it together!
