Elrond community folk are Exceptionally Lovely Really Outstanding Nice Dudes!
Why is that someone would ask? I will tell, but all of this will be from my perspective.
Elrond community
I participated, have been a member of various forms of community groups over the years. Organized events, LAN parties (when they were a thing), meetings, administered forums. I could go on and on, but the thing is I know a few things about communities. The main thing that makes a community strong is that people first give them selfs, offer help and never asks anything in return. Met quite a few passionate people who deliver way more then someone is asking from them. And the funny thing at first you think they are getting paid to act in this way because they are part of the Elrond team. And I was shocked to discover that they are just community members just like me. And that is amazing to me.
These principals work mostly in any situation in life. Give without expecting a return and the universe will give back to you.
Passion
No community can’t grow without a project or an idea. But lucky for Elrond folks, the project is on point and the team is working harder than ever. The upcoming mainnet launch, the Battle of Nodes event. All of this work and passion for the project, well it rubs on to people. When you see that the developers, community managers are always there, answering questions — participating in discussions. Community members respond the same way and this passion for the project becomes contagious.
Seeing the work done, things built really get the pulse of the community growing and as if mirrored you get the said attitude back.
People here are not only passionate about the Elrond project itself. You get to see the different worldviews people bring to the table. How someone is striving to make a world a better place, strong views in politics, economics, and technology. And of course, the passion does not end here. The madness of cryptobubbles.io game is dangerous and contagious. The amount of hours spent competing in tournaments is amazing!
Creativity and ingenuity
Of course, all the motivation comes from the Community platform which is my opinion a very good way to grow the interest and sustainable and fair to keep everyone engaged and rewarded for their contributions. Below you can find top featured contributions in the third wave, you can read more about in the official article.
Battle of Nodes competition, in my opinion, spawned one of the greatest contributions so far in the community. The bot created by @DrDelphi is an amazing contribution and really helps other community members with the missions and allows to easily track your node status and statistics.
Future
I am hopeful that the community will strive forward and after the Elrond mainnet launch it will get a real boost because lots of new people will start pouring in. With that tide, older community members will have some responsibilities to teach new folks the ways of Elrond, but generally, I think it will be great!
The distinguished members should become honorary Elrond team members and could represent Elrond in different events and meetings. Also, an interesting idea would be Elrond Community Support. Here members of community could solve problems and help get rewarded for their effort for this and forum.elrond.com would be a really good place for this.
And after a while, Elrond annual community meetings should definitely be a thing!
The future is bright and I truly believe the Elrond community will grow exponentially and with help with the Elrond core team, we will be able to change the world into a better place with one Lon at a time. The smallest part of ERD is Lon (my suggestion)!
