Digital Signages (kiosks) at an airport

A kiosk can be a self- service terminal or a device locked to perform only a certain set of functionalities. You may have seen and used kiosks while waiting at the airport or you may have ordered food via Kiosks at restaurants.

As simple as it sounds a kiosk can be what you might be missing in your business! (Check out Inosh’s article to know more about kiosks)

Why have Kiosks?

When you think of your shop or your business, there will be one thing which may frustrate you each day. The long queue of customers, and your team struggling with their orders. There will be individuals taking too much time, trying to pick a choice, while there will be ones who just want to order their regular at the back of the queue, looking annoyed. It will not be a pleasant experience for your customers and your employees. To add to that there may be a lot of competitors in line trying to snatch away your business.

Self service kiosks may be the solution to all your problems.

Let your customers make their orders themselves at the pace they want. Kiosks would digitalize your customer experience, letting them enjoy a smooth and a convenient experience in their minds. It would also help to differentiate your brand as a digitally savvy business from your competitors. Self service kiosks would enable you to reduce the number of staff handling the customers and instead direct them towards more value adding tasks. This would enable you to experience a drop in your operational costs and enhance the profitability of your business. Why not invest on something which may be a quintessential item in tomorrow’s fast paced business?

Multi-User Kiosks

The intuitive and innovative technology of self service kiosks which is highly likely to impress your customers, also can be expanded to have multiple users. This can lead to using the devices strategically to have more business benefits. Multi user kiosks provides the facility to maintain multiple user accounts in a kiosk. This allows you to have a primary account and one or more secondary accounts in a kiosk.

As an example, in a restaurant where there are self service kiosks. The customers or the general public can be provided with limited applications and functionalities. Yet at the end of a working day if the restaurant owner wants to view the total purchases made by the kiosk, working time or wants to edit menu items of a particular kiosks they would need special privilege. For that they could login with a separate account which has additional functionalities and privileges.

The applications available in a multi user kiosk can be restricted based on the login user account. Certain applications may not be available for a user based on the settings provided at the user creation.

All such features are supported by Entgra Mobile Device Management solution. View the Part 2 of this article to see how Entgra supports multi user management for kiosks.
