Note from the editor

Hello, welcome to Espresso Shot. My name is Lulu deCarron, I’m an entrepreneur, storyteller and writer. A little backstory: I owned and operated two successful businesses, the first an upscale bakery and catering business, the second, a Coffeehouse named Lulu. It sat on the rim of Yale’s campus, in East Rock, for 24 years.” Lulu’s was known by articles and interviews across the country, in publications such as Harper’s, The New Yorker, NPR’s Marketplace, the NY Times Magazine, and others. Lulu’s was mentioned in four novels, the most recent by Elizabeth Alexander in her memoir “The Light of The World.” Philip Langdon quoted me liberally in his recent book, “Within Walking Distance, Creating Livable Communities for All” Espresso Shot will focus on 24 years of stories. Thank you for stopping by, I’d love your company on this amazing journey. Espresso Shot is a labor of love, in it’s infancy.
