We’re headquartered way-up-north in beautiful Oslo, Norway. As one of the latest startups to join the Fintech Innovation ecosystem, we share our modern offices with Fintech Innovation and Neonomics, both leaders in the Nordic fintech space. We love working side-by-side with these successful startups and the synergy that comes from sharing our knowledge, experience, and resources.

True to our Scandinavian roots, we believe that every member of our team has something to offer and a voice in what we’re building. It takes diverse points of view from people with diverse backgrounds to build comprehensive solutions as well as a good team. Across our office, we represent 18 different nationalities and pride ourselves on being an international team with a global outlook that is strengthened by our diversity.

What We Do
We make sh*t that works. We’re building a global payments and settlement platform that uses blockchain technology to facilitate fast, secure, and inexpensive currency exchange between banks and financial institutions. We love technology and the challenge of using it to solve difficult and complex problems. Anyone that has transferred funds overseas knows that this process can be frustrating, expensive, and time-consuming. What you may not know is that it is equally so for financial institutions. If we can solve it for them, we can solve it for all of us.
How We Stay Balanced
Work-life balance is a core value at Eternic that’s shared across the Fintech Innovation ecosystem. We strongly believe that having happy and healthy employees reflects positively in their work! Here are just a few of the ways we work together to support and encourage each other to stay balanced:
We keep active with daily planking sessions and weekly yoga classes and adjustable desks. Need to take a stretch? Grab yourself a yoga mat or ball and go for it! Best of all it’s totally voluntary — no one is going to make you drop-and-do-twenty unless you want you. But let us warn you, the canteen here is awesome, so you might want to.
We stay flexible by allowing each other to tailor our work hours to suit our working styles. As a diverse team, we all work differently. Whether you’re an early bird or a night owl, PC or Mac user, like a sitting desk or standing one, we do our absolute best to tailor things to your needs.
We eat well (or at least try to) which is made easier by our building’s excellent canteen. Coffee is pretty important here as well, so we get our fresh roasted coffee from Oslo’s My Ugly Baby. We also keep a solid selection of tea and healthy snacks on hand, including fresh fruit, so getting your five-a-day won’t be a problem! And we wouldn’t be a Scandinavian office if we didn’t break for cake, be it for a birthday or fika (Scandinavian coffee break). It’s a great way to connect with our colleagues and take a break during the day. Thank goodness for daily planks — we did say it’s about “balance”!
We stay social, when we’re not hard at work, taking advantage of our central location for fun outings and regular social activities our ecosystem has to offer like Friday beers and “family” dinners. Some of our recent social activities include bowling, game nights, movie nights, and sledding. We’ve even headed to the mountains to share in some Norwegian hytte (cabin) and ski culture.

We promote learning, just like TEDtalks, we offer our own variation known as TechTalks and FinTalks. Whether it’s functional programming or sharing what secrets to success (or mistakes) we’ve learned from other startups, we’re committed to helping each learn with regular TechTalks. We also want to learn about each other and that’s where FinTalks are a fun way to share what we’re into — be it pizza, video creation, architecture, and more! Our Friday talks are a great way to share our passions and knowledge with our colleagues.
