Sobre Europa Rup (léalo en Español)
Launched on November 23, 2018, Europa Rup is the first news and analysis service on the European Union from the outermost regions (ORs) of Article 349 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the EU.
Europa Rup produces Brief Rup, a bulletin specialized in information about the outermost regions agenda in the EU, served by email to leaders and experts.
We are interested in how Europeans will live tomorrow with the knowledge and technology that is created today in the outermost regions, strategic positions of innovation in astrophysics, clean energy, biodiversity, blue economy and tourism, among other fields.
Europa Rup also focuses on the process of economic and social convergence of the Europeans of the ORs with the standard of living of their EU peers.
We only publish news, analysis and visualization of data, alternating Spanish and English according to the audience of each content.
We follow the standards of professional journalism in all its requirements, and especially in the following:
The attribution of all information to an identified source. Europa Rup does not publish content based on anonymous sources.
The verification of everything we publish.
The immediate rectification of errors through updates in which we record the wrong content, the date and time of correction.

Who we are
Alicia R. Mederos
Executive Editor at Europa Rup. He has worked in Canarias7, Agencia Canaria de Noticias-Europa Press, Diario16 and El País, in the areas of Education, Society and Culture, obtaining several National Journalism Awards. Member of the founding team of the Public Broadcast Television of the Canary Islands, serving as a political and parliamentary correspondent until today. Parliamentary chronicler in radio and television, he has published several books, among them, Cómplice Inocente: diario del piloto español que enseñó a volar a Mohamed Atta and Marwan Al Shehi. Member of CIMA, Association of Women Filmmakers and Audiovisual Media. Founder of Europa Rup, where she writes about innovation, science and social movements.

Europa Rup serves users interested in news and analysis on innovation, science, regional policy, cohesion policy, European funds and the future of the European Union.

The launch of Europa Rup has been financed with the savings and time of its two founders. We both develop professional and academic projects outside Europe Rup, a place where we agree to experience and enjoy journalism with the professional standards of quality media.
