“Johnny Belinda” (1948) and “Wait Until Dark” (1967). Not only watch them, but re-watch them. :)
You’re preaching to the choir. I admired Bette Davis whether she played a good girl or a bad girl. I liked her when she was young. I liked her when she became older and should have been put out to pasture. The woman had a tremendously strong work ethic. Her acting skills were a cut above the rest. All other actresses could use her as their “standard” or “model”.
Barbara Stanwyck is an amazing actress. But it’s funniest thing. I started following her career backwards. I actually became her fan when she starred on TV series “The Big Valley”. From that point, I worked my way backwards. She’s the only actress from that time period that I actually had to work backwards to follow. :)
Well if you were going to get stuck in a time rift, I’m glad you got stuck in MY time rift. Love your articles. They are so YOU and ME!!! We both love these fabulous films with fabulous stars from a fabulous time period in cinema history!! We have to push through and push past all that sillyness and racism and sexism and just enjoy a really great movie!
