Farmer crouches to plant a row of seedlings in a field.
Plant the seeds this spring for more sales this season with GrownBy 3.6.

As direct-market farmers who work diligently in our fields and at our computers, we believe the old adage “work smarter, not harder,” is more relevant — and necessary — than ever.

From the fields to the farmers market, this principle emphasizes the importance of efficiency, innovation, and strategic thinking. That’s why in the first GrownBy app update of 2024, we focused on creating new features for farmers that will save you time, ease stress, and help you maintain your sanity!

From bulk editing products to detailed invoice reports, GrownBy 3.6 includes new features that will help you enhance productivity, and, ultimately, sales!

Continue reading for a breakdown of the GrownBy 3.6 app update that includes several exciting new features alongside UI and UX updates, performance improvements, and minor bug fixes.

Bulk editing products save time & resources.

Say goodbye to manually updating individual products and hello to a world of efficiency with bulk editing!

Also referred to as batch editing, or bulk processing, bulk editing allows you to edit or update a large number of products or categories at once.

This feature not only saves time, but also ensures consistency across your farm shop so you can update your storefront with less effort.

Effortlessy edit in bulk: ☑ product category ☑ producer ☑ next day purchase availability ☑delivery and/or pickup schedule ☑ featured products ☑ EBT Eligible products ☑ hide/unhide products ☑ delete products in bulk.
Edit product category, producer, schedules, and other qualifiers with bulk editing.

Name-based URLs are easy to find & share.

Your farm shop URL will now be formatted based on your farm name, as opposed to a randomly generated string assigned to your account when you sign up for GrownBy.*

Name-based URLS make finding and sharing your farm storefront easier than ever; they provide a simple, more direct way to direct customers to your GrownBy profile and products.

The updated URL format for the farms will follow the pattern [name-of-farm]. For example, if your farm’s name is Green Acres Farm, your new URL will appear like this: [www.grownby.app/green-acres-farm]

*Don’t worry though — your current shop URL will remain active and redirect to your updated text URL, so any older links you’ve shared on social media, blogs, or press will still lead customers to your GrownBy storefront.

Filter invoices by payment method for detailed invoice reports and better bookkeeping.

Filter your invoices by payment method and view detailed invoice reports for better bookkeeping.

Previously, there wasn’t as easy a way to filter those invoices, but you can now see exactly how much was purchased with EBT versus other payment methods simply by filtering and exporting the invoices.

This GrownBy 3.6 update is especially useful for farmers authorized to accept SNAP Online to filter SNAP EBT payments. Farms may have to report their EBT sales for government reporting, Double Up Programs, taxes, etc.

Apply coupons by producer & category

Coupons can now only be applied to specific categories and/or producers. Farms may want to limit a coupon by producer for several reasons; for example, a farmer may choose to offer a discount only on items they themselves produce, rather than for a product they outsource from another farm, where you have little to no control over the pricing.

This update is especially important for farms that accept SNAP Online and are in a state that offers Double Up Food Bucks, a program that matches SNAP EBT dollars so your customers can get twice the amount of fresh produce.

Additional UX & UI Improvements Include

  • Reconfigured Accounts and Settings pages which makes it easier to view and reconcile payouts!
  • Simplified checkouts to make shopping a breeze.
  • Updated CSA Groups page formatting to better highlight your bounty.
