They have their trackers. They have their teams. And they have the Feat for Airbnb app. What’s next? Walk. Sleep. Earn. Reward. The Airbnb pilot program is on the move, involving around 120 participants from the engineering departments mainly in San Francisco, but also in the Portland and Seattle branches. The program will last 9 weeks, providing an opportunity for Feat to once again deploy its corporate program and this time track not just steps, but also sleep, while continuing to deepen the food experience aspect of the rewards. Feat.Corp is a great opportunity to explore workplace dynamics and really focus on the team building and community experience. Here are a couple highlights from the Airbnb program.

Behind the scenes: working with the engineers of Airbnb

Airbnb is a huge company with employees around the world and numerous divisions just in their San Francisco headquarters. When conceptualizing the Airbnb pilot program, we worked with the Airbnb team to figure out which division to target and finally settled on the engineering department. Why? They do the nitty gritty work of making sure things run smoothly for the site and the development of the digital aspects. Their work is completely computer based and their interactions are primarily technological. So what better way for Airbnb to encourage community building and healthy lifestyle habits than with Feat?

Food rewards: experiences to remember

As part of the pilot program, the Airbnb food team was consulted to make great rewards that would be valuable incentives for healthy habits. Each week a different experience is on the table for individuals to compete for. There are blind wine tastings: literally in the dark. Not only will participants learn about wine aromas and varietals, but it will also be a chance to focus on the senses and pay attention to mindful eating and drinking. Other experiential rewards will include sushi making (from how to make the perfect rice to how to shop for fish, and what nutrients you can get from different fish) as well as a mystery cooking class, and a tea ceremony with Qi Gong lesson (food and wellbeing in one!). The cumulative group prize will be an Ugly Juice pow-wow with a juice company working to decrease food waste through juicing incentives.

Feat.Corp Branded

We’re pleased to showcase the level of customization available to businesses with our Feat Corp branding. The Airbnb pilot program app has been designed to fit the Airbnb aesthetic and company language. We’re also thrilled to be experimenting with team challenges and in-app chat settings that will allow for expanded communication among participants and with the Feat support team. We’re hoping that increased communication between participants will encourage additional motivation towards healthy habits, especially since the teams are comprised of members from various offices and even remotely.

The Airbnb pilot with Feat will provide an incredible opportunity to showcase social return on investment for the company and for Feat to implement some components that will be crucial in further developing Feat: chat functions, team challenges, rewards that focus on making and doing to learn good practices when it comes to wellbeing. We can’t wait to see what happens over the next nine weeks. Stay tuned!
