These aren’t mentioned in school, but have a deep meaning in our world. We can only discover them through our lives and hardships, not textbooks. Embracing them can bring you peace and transform any life into an extraordinary one.

Law of attraction:

It’s a law of thinking. It says that we attract the things we focus on. For instance, it’s like tuning a radio to a desired frequency. If we think about positivity, happiness, and peace, life responds by bringing these to us. Our thinking sets the frequency, and life plays back whatever we focus on.

“What you think, you become. What you feel, you attract. What you imagine, you create.”

Law of intentionality:

It says that growth doesn’t happen by accident. You have to work and be determined to keep going. This stands for everything in life, your dream, relationship, or growth. You can’t hope that everything will fall into place or wait for the “perfect” moment. If you have something you desire, you have to earn it with hard work and dedication.

“The magic that you are looking for is in the work that you are avoiding.”

The Law of Impermanence:

It represents that nothing lasts forever. Change will happen inevitably, no matter how hard you try to resist it. That’s why instead of fearing it, embrace it and grow with it. It’s simple: learn from the bad days, make memories on the good days, and remember both are temporary.

“The only constant in life is change.”

Law of Detachment

It teaches us to trust the process. We should have goals, but without big expectations. Trust nature, beacause you don’t have to control everything. But you need to stay open for what comes. With this, you can reduce stress and self-criticism.

“Trust the process and let go of control.”

Ending

Thank you for reading. In Meditations, he shared his wisdom and experiences. Nearly 2000 years later, his existence still inspires people to stay strong, focused, and grounded. In this article, I will show you 3 life lessons from Marcus Aurelius that will help you with your self-improvement journey.

1. Death completes life.

He said Why should I fear death, it’s natural. Death is a price you pay for living. So don’t go against it or resist it. Rather be grateful for the memories, the things you did, for the people you meet. But to accept the end, you must live every day like it’s your last and make an impact on the world.

“How much time you have, you can’t know, but you do know it’s limited. So don’t waste it on what doesn’t matter.”

2. Everything is part of God’s plan

Marcus Aurelius teaches that no matter the situation, good or bad. We should always accept it. Everything happens according to the natural order. You don’t resist the order, but you welcome it as something beyond our control. Worrying and overthinking about something that could happen is a waste of energy, as it can pull you away from living.

“You are a part of the whole, and everything that happens to you is part of the whole.”

3. Empathy over criticism

We should avoid judging others. He reminds us that when we seek problems in others, we should first focus on our own. Be tolerant of others and strict with yourself. You can’t judge someone without hearing their story first. Everyone has their struggles and problems that shape who they are.

“When you are about to find fault with someone, ask yourself: What fault of mine is it that I see in them?”

4. Be like a cliff

Marcus Aurelius’s famous quote tells us that we stand firm like a cliff no matter what life throws at us. The waves don’t bother us. We keep peace and positivity in our minds when facing hard times, and be grateful for the moments of joy. By embracing both we grow and live like we are meant to be.

Be like the cliff against which the waves continually break; but it stands firm and tames the fury of the water around it.

ENDING

Thank you for reading, and if you have any questions, comments, tips, please share them with me :)

If you like this type of content, give me a follow

Hope you have a good day.

4 Life lessons From Marcus Aurelius that will change you was originally published in ILLUMINATION on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.

Getting straight A’s is easy

Photo by RAMSHA ASAD on Unsplash

We all had that one exam for which we studied for hours and days, and on the day of the exam, everything just went sideways.

This happened to me last year when I was studying physics. I was behind the desk for at least 6 hours 4 days in a row. On exam day, my confidence levels were high. I thought nothing could surprise me, and well, I failed that test HARD.

After that disaster, I started to wonder if I was just dumb or if I was studying wrong. I tried different study techniques, including the blurting method, the Feynman technique, and active recall…

These are all good methods for studying, but at the end of the day, it all depends on what works best for you. Not every technique will be perfect for you.

That said, these are 3 things that helped me get better grades.

1. Positive Mindset

Nothing good comes from negative. If you say, “I won’t understand that” before you even start studying, there is a big chance that you won’t. So stay positive even in the worst situations. You have to think that you can learn every topic easily and very fast. You have to be a little delusional.

2. Make learning fun.

Everything is better if you have fun. When you enjoy studying, you’re more likely to retain information, whereas boredom makes it harder to remember and easier to give up. I like to make quizzes or use ChatGPT to ask me questions about the topic. I make it like a game. I don’t want any wrong answers because the score won’t be perfect, and everybody wants a perfect score. So you keep playing the game until you know everything.

3. Stop being on your phone.

I lost so much time being on my phone. Sometimes for a minute, but even that was enough to ruin my focus. So what helped me the most is. I lowered my social media usage, and I put my phone on Do Not Disturb. I didn’t get any notifications, so nothing tempted my brain to break focus. I’m not saying you have to study for 2 hours straight without your phone; even I can’t do that. At the beginning, I used the 30-minute strategy. You set your timer for 30 minutes, and during this time you study without distractions. Then take a 5–10 minute break and repeat. It’s a simple strategy, but it helped me a lot.

“One hour of deep, focused work is more valuable than four hours of distracted effort.”

So these are 3 tips that helped me ace my exams. I hope you find these as helpful as I did.

And if you have any comments, feedback, or tips, please share them with me. :)

If you like this type of content, please follow me.

Good luck on your exams.

Three Quick Tips to Ace Your Next Exam was originally published in ILLUMINATION on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.

Reset. Refocus. As many times as you need to, just don’t ever give up on yourself.

Life is like playing Grand Theft Auto 5. The only thing you want is to upgrade your character. I played this game for hours with my friends, and I enjoyed it every moment. So make life your game of improving your character yourself.

Take risks; staying in your comfort zone doesn’t bring growth in GTA; you tried many methods to make money, and sometimes you failed, but you learned. So, try as many times as you need; we are all good at something; we just have to find it.

You never know what’s around the corner, a bad thing or a good thing. So enjoy the moment, nothing lasts forever. In this fast-paced world, we often forget about the small things and our progress. Be grateful for the sunsets and your 5-minute talk with your mom or dad. These are moments we often take for granted until they’re gone.

Build habits that bring you meaning: go to the gym, read books, and start writing articles:) anything, just don’t waste too much time being stuck on your phone. I mean, in today’s world, that is easier said than done, but as I always say, you can always TRY.

Two years ago, I struggled with pimples. I still have them today, but they have gotten way better. I tried everything. I stayed away from certain foods and bought a lot of products, but nothing helped. They were my biggest insecurity and, to this day, still are. But over time, I learned something important: some things are simply out of your control. So why bother with them? You can’t control when a pimple will appear and where. This is for all things in life you can’t control.

Let things be don’t stress over it. Don’t think about it too much. I spent hours looking at myself in the mirror and thinking, why has this happened to me? But eventually, I realized that obsessing over it only made things worse. Now, I remind myself. Let things be. Focus on what you can control. Healing — whether for your skin or in life — takes time. It happens when it happens. Until then, don’t let it stop you from living.

Make memories I will never forget the days when I stayed late playing games with my friends, laughing in the back row, and going out. Yes, social media is telling you to make money, to do this, that, but at the end of the day. The most important thing is what you think and what you want. If you want to do something, social media is like nah, that is “uncool.” Well, do it anyway if it makes you happy, that’s all that matters.

I’m new to writing, so I would greatly appreciate any tips, comments, or feedback on this article. :)

If you like this content, give me a follow.

At The End of Your Journey, Let Your Life Be The Greatest Book was originally published in ILLUMINATION on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.
