Klaers (1925–2011)

Raymond H. Klaers was a man shaped by the quiet strength of America’s heartland and the defining trials of the twentieth century. Born on a Minnesota farm in 1925, he came of age during World War II, serving his country before building a life grounded in faith, craftsmanship, and family.

In 1951, Ray and his beloved wife, Bernardine, moved west to California, where he began a lifelong career as a union electrician with IBEW Local 477. For decades, he helped wire the growing communities of the Inland Empire, earning a reputation for skill, reliability, and integrity. He was a devoted member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, and the Elks Lodge — communities where service and brotherhood mattered as much as profession.

Ray was, above all, a father and grandfather. His sons — Bill, Larry, and Joe Klaers — carried his legacy into the skies as accomplished pilots. In tribute to their father, they participated in Celebrating the Spirit of America, flying historic aircraft that honored the heroes and milestones of American aviation. Through these flights — aboard a B-52 Stratofortress, a P-47 Thunderbolt, and a Beech 18 — Ray’s legacy took wing, bridging generations of service, courage, and exploration.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernardine, and is remembered by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who carry forward his quiet strength, work ethic, and devotion to family.

Raymond Klaers lived a life defined not by spectacle, but by steadiness — by showing up, building things that lasted, and raising a family that reached for the sky. His legacy continues in the wires he laid, the faith he practiced, and the aircraft his sons flew in his honor.

Raymond H. Bussey
Tuskegee Airman • Korean War Hero • Community Builder

Lt. Col. Charles Milton Bussey lived a life defined by courage, service, and unwavering determination. A decorated World War II veteran of the famed Tuskegee Airmen and later a hero of the Korean War, Bussey earned some of the nation’s highest military honors, including the Silver Star, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Air Medal, Purple Heart, and Army Commendation Medal.

Born on April 23, 1921, in Bakersfield, California, Bussey enlisted in the U.S. Army while still in his teens. He entered history as one of the 992 African American pilots to earn their wings at Tuskegee Army Airfield, flying combat missions across North Africa, Italy, and Germany. His mother feared the dangers of flight — so he solved it in classic Bussey fashion: he sent her an airline ticket and insisted she watch him receive his silver wings.

After WWII, he chose to continue his military career. In June 1950, he became commander of the all-Black 77th Engineer Combat Company in Korea. Despite being sent into battle with outdated equipment and almost no usable maps, Bussey led with resolve. In July 1950, he and a small group of men halted a 250-soldier North Korean advance — one of America’s first victories of the Korean War. His heroism would later be honored by Secretary of Defense William Cohen, who praised Bussey not only for his valor but for his belief in a better, more just America. Bussey once wrote, “I loved my country for what it could be, far beyond what it was.”

Following Korea, Bussey served in Europe — including Berlin during the building of the Berlin Wall — and later at the San Francisco Presidio until retiring in 1966 as a lieutenant colonel.

Civilian life only expanded his impact. In 1967, he launched Patimik Corp., the San Francisco Container Corp., and the Academy of Skills — businesses that created jobs and opportunity for the Bayview–Hunters Point community. He also served as president of the Urban League and was appointed to San Francisco’s Juvenile Justice Commission.

Bussey’s international work continued through the 1970s, including major engineering roles on the Alaska pipeline and as a Bechtel project manager helping build the city of Al Jubail in Saudi Arabia. Returning to Southern California, he embraced teaching, writing, and farming. His acclaimed memoir, Firefight at Yechon: Courage and Racism in the Korean War (1991), documents both his battlefield experiences and the realities of segregation within the U.S. military.

Lt. Col. Bussey passed away on October 26, 2003, at age 82 due to complications from diabetes and heart disease. He left behind a large and loving family: brothers Edmund and Bruce Bussey; sister Verna Beaver; children Charles Ronald Bussey, Fé Evangeline Seymour, Patricia Elaine Bussey, and Edmund Bruce Bussey; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He also left behind countless people whose lives he touched — with his leadership, his brilliance, his humor, and his belief in what America could become.

A celebration of his life was held on what would have been his 83rd birthday, April 23, 2004, at St. Andrew Church in Daly City — where friends, family, and community members gathered with stories and photographs to honor an extraordinary man who lived an extraordinary life.

Originally published at https://jenengevikpr.wixsite.com.

Bussey, Lt.

This article is 100% written by AI with very little direction. The reason? So we can learn from the source and make winning decisions as we market our brands.

The explosion of AI writing tools has stirred up heated debates inside marketing teams. Some executives see a chance to slash budgets, imagining a world where a single ChatGPT subscription replaces entire writing departments. Others push back, convinced AI will drain the creativity and authenticity from content.

The reality? Both extremes miss the mark.

The future of copywriting isn’t about choosing sides. It’s about learning how to fuse AI’s efficiency with human insight. And the brands that figure this out first will own the edge.

Where AI Shines

AI deserves recognition for how much it has already streamlined the writing process

Lightning-Fast Research
Instead of hours buried in tabs and PDFs, AI can deliver market data, competitor insights, and industry trends in minutes. That leaves senior writers free to translate information into strategy.

Draft Generation at Scale
For routine content like product blurbs, ad copy, or email intros, AI can pump out usable drafts that cut writing time by more than half. At CopyBoss.net, we’ve seen projects move 60–70% faster because of AI’s ability to produce a quick starting point.

Brainstorming Powerhouse
When the blank page stares back, AI offers a flood of headline options, messaging variations, and campaign angles that spark momentum.

Content Recycling
Need to stretch one blog post across platforms? AI can reformat it into tweets, subject lines, LinkedIn posts, or ad variations at breakneck speed.

AI handles the grind. But the grind alone doesn’t persuade, inspire, or sell.

Where AI Misses the Mark

This is where the limits show up:

Authentic Voice
AI can echo your style but doesn’t understand the subtle rhythms that come from years of customer relationships, brand history, and cultural nuance. Humans carry that weight.

Strategic Awareness
AI doesn’t see the bigger picture. It can’t weigh whether a piece of copy strengthens your long-term positioning, sidesteps cultural landmines, or aligns with the rest of a campaign.

Emotional Resonance
AI might “know” urgency works, but it doesn’t feel the difference between motivating urgency and manipulative urgency. Humans do.

Quality Judgment
AI often outputs technically correct words that fall flat strategically. It won’t catch when copy sounds fine but fails to move the needle — or worse, damages trust.

Why Experienced Writers Who Know AI Are Indispensable

This is where senior copywriters make all the difference. The ones who understand AI aren’t afraid of it — they leverage it.

Strategic Direction
They can place each piece of content in the larger context of brand strategy and customer journey.

Elevated Quality
They refine AI’s raw drafts into sharp, persuasive copy that converts. That’s how our collective at CopyBoss.net has helped brands generate over $500M in sales.

Efficiency Multiplied
AI handles the repetitive parts. Senior writers double down on creativity, nuance, and messaging that moves markets.

Risk Control
When AI produces tone-deaf, inaccurate, or legally risky copy, senior writers know how to catch it before it ever goes live.

Setting Standards
As AI becomes part of daily workflows, senior writers guide teams on when to lean on it — and when human judgment is non-negotiable.

The Future: AI + Human Expertise

The smartest companies won’t pit AI against writers. They’ll combine the speed of AI with the craft of seasoned copywriters. That’s how they’ll produce more content, faster — without sacrificing brand authenticity or strategy.

AI has already reshaped copywriting. The question isn’t if it will — it’s how you’ll use it. Will you treat AI like a cheap shortcut? Or as a force multiplier under the guidance of experienced writers?

Get Senior Copywriters Who Master AI

At CopyBoss.net, you don’t have to choose between speed and quality. You get both.

✨ Senior writers with 8+ years of experience using AI to boost impact
🎯 A track record of $500M+ in conversions for Fortune 500s
⚡ 24–48 hour turnaround times
📊 Transparent pricing and real-time project tracking
🔄 Unlimited revisions to ensure the copy is flawless

From SEO blogs (starting at $297) to complete email campaigns ($499), we deliver copy that doesn’t just read well — it converts.

Your competitors are already experimenting with AI. The only question is: are they using it as well as they could?

👉 Start your first project today at CopyBoss.net

AI and Human Copywriters: The Real Battle for Attention was originally published in CopyBoss on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.

Fuck Grammarly, for now at least).

Or, sometimes I’ve been told that sitting around writing is a waste of time when other things need to be focused on.

But, what gave people like Steinbeck, Virginia Woolf, Shakespeare, and others the right to write, but not me (or you)?

An aside: As I was thinking of which writers I wanted to mention above, I did a quick Google search for “Most famous writers” and here were the results:

All fucking men except for one (Thank you Jane A.) came up ;-P Ha, not that I don’t like men, but hell what is Google trying to say???

Could that be a reason I question…why write?

The excuses are just silly stuff, right?

When a writer chooses not to write, words, concepts, and half-baked ideas get stuck inside. Then it all manifests in our tissues, in our bones, and in our tears.

This post isn’t meant to be long. Just a reminder — that I need to get in here more regularly. That I need to turn Grammarly off. Give ChatGPT the finger and write my heart out.

This morning, I was reading a beautiful book that I found back in the early 2000s in Los Angeles about the life of photojournalist Dan Eldon. In his journal, he wrote:

“Don’t run your body like a gas station. Fight the power. Look for solutions, not problems. Seek clarity of vision.”

What is my vision? What is it????

It’s weird. I have no clue right now.

If I were to write a book, I barely know what it would be about.

Should I be frightened?

Maybe?

Is it a sign that the best things to come are on the way?

The world is so noisy these days—so many experts and opinions. People (sometimes me too) scrolling mindlessly through Instagram or Facebook feeds—I think to numb something. Many things.

We are foregoing nature and walks and connections with real (in the flesh) people to get stuck in virtual worlds.

How long are we spending choreographing dances that may go viral?

Taking selfies while the most beautiful and exquisite intricacies of life are passing us by?

Yes, I’m a writer.

And now I’ve written.

Phew, all those thoughts above put out into the ether.

Maybe nobody will read them, and that’s perfectly okay. Or okej, as my Norwegian grandfather would have said.

Now, I go back to my world and go adventure in nature with my pups.

As someone deeply interested in understanding the complexities of sexual wellness and communication, hearing Emily speak was both enlightening and empowering. Below, I share five transformative lessons gleaned from her talk and her seminal work, “Hot Sex: Over 200 Things You Can Try Tonight!”, which have significantly shifted my perspective on sexuality.

1. The Art of Communication is Your Best Friend in Intimacy

Emily Morse champions open and honest communication as the cornerstone of healthy sexual relationships. She underscored the importance of being able to express desires, boundaries, and concerns with partners, as well as the necessity of listening. This dialogue creates a safe space for exploration and connection, teaching me that true intimacy begins with vulnerability and trust.

2. Knowledge Destroys Taboos

One of Emily’s most compelling points was how education can dismantle the taboos surrounding sex. Growing up in a society where sex is often shrouded in secrecy and shame, her approach was refreshing. By advocating for informed conversations about sex, Emily encourages a shift from ignorance to empowerment, reminding me that understanding our bodies and desires is a crucial step toward a fulfilling sex life.

3. Curiosity Leads to Greater Pleasure

“Exploration is essential,” Emily professed, encouraging a mindset of curiosity within the realms of consent and comfort. Her perspective taught me that experimenting with new ideas, positions, and fantasies is not only healthy but necessary for discovering what brings us pleasure. Her book, filled with actionable suggestions, serves as a guide to expanding one’s sexual horizons in a safe and exciting way.

4. Prioritizing Pleasure is a Radical Act of Self-Love

In a revelation that struck me deeply, Emily spoke of pleasure as a vital component of overall well-being, not just a trivial or indulgent afterthought. This lesson was a call to action to prioritize my own pleasure, recognizing it as an integral part of my health and happiness. Emily’s work serves as a reminder that seeking pleasure is a profound act of self-love and self-care.

5. Sexuality is a Journey, Not a Destination

Finally, Emily Morse’s insights reinforced the idea that sexuality is a fluid and evolving aspect of our identity. There is no “final form” or end goal, but rather an ongoing process of discovery, acceptance, and growth. This has encouraged me to be more patient and compassionate with myself and others as we navigate our unique sexual journeys.

For anyone on a quest for deeper sexual fulfillment and connection, I wholeheartedly recommend exploring Emily Morse’s work. Whether it’s tuning into her podcast, “Sex With Emily,” attending her talks, or diving into her book, there’s a wealth of wisdom to uncover. Emily Morse has gifted me a new lens through which to view sexuality, one that I hope more people will have the opportunity to experience.

5 Transformative Lessons from Dr. Emily Morse That Evolved My View on Sexuality was originally published in The Authentic Rebel on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.

Because it’s Women’s History Month, I couldn’t help but channel Betty White… and here’s the ode she wrote via ChatGPT. You can expect a lot more, so stay tuned:

Darling, if there’s one piece of advice I could give you, it’s this: Believe in yourself with all your heart and don’t let anyone dim that belief. Not for a second.

You see, the world might try to tell you ‘no’, to place limits on what you can achieve based on this or that. But I’m here to tell you, the only limits that truly matter are the ones you set for yourself.

Throughout my career, I faced my share of naysayers and doors slammed in my face. But you know what?

I kept knocking. I kept showing up, with a smile on my face and determination in my spirit. Because I believed in my dreams. And that, my dear, made all the difference.

So, go after what sets your soul on fire. Pursue it with everything you’ve got. And along the way, sprinkle a little kindness, a lot of hard work, and an unshakeable sense of humor. The road won’t always be easy, but oh, will it be worth it.

And remember, making your dreams come true isn’t just about achieving them. It’s about who you become in the process. You’ll discover strengths you never knew you had, and you’ll inspire others to chase their dreams, too.

So, lace up your shoes, take a deep breath, and step out with confidence. The world is waiting for what only you can bring to it. And I, for one, can’t wait to see where your dreams take you.

With all my love and a cheer in your corner,

Betty White

What the Late Betty White Told Me to Tell You in ChatGPT was originally published in The Authentic Rebel on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.
