Hey everyone! I’m so happy to announce that yesterday, we successfully launched the first major NFTBook project from PageDAO!! We could never have pulled it off without assistance from MaskDAO and from PizzaDAO, and of course the PageDAO community has been absolutely wonderful.

We had a party for authors yesterday, and over a dozen turned up and read their work during a 5-hour Twitter Spaces community call. You can follow PageDAO at https://twitter.com/page_dao and of course here at Cent as well. The growth of the PageDAO Author’s Community has made a lot of things possible, as the Mask of Ganymede project shows. This post will be a short introduction to the concept and an overview of the contents of the book.

The NFTBook has three types of content: eBook, Audiobook, and Print on Demand service for physical copies. It consists of submarined files stored on IPFS that are served into a dAPP that renders in a web browser, allowing the user to access the content.

The text renders in a small window that can be full-screened, and the audiobook is available by clicking “Listen.” My favorite way to take in the content is to then navigate to the text + audiopage, see below:

This view will become invaluable for schoolbooks and other academic pursuits as our game improves and we become able to synchronize audio playback page by page so that the text becomes a sort of video companion for the audiobook.

We anticipate translations on the way, as well as a song, and are planning a variety of promotions including a few limited mint runs that may be free to collect if you hold the NFTBook in your wallet. If you followed us at all during the WIP Publishing days, you know how much we love to do airdrops!

Above is the opening of the preface I wrote for the NFTBook, which focuses largely upon the story itself, unlike this post. I believe the story to be the best thing I’ve (T. Dylan Daniel, /epicdylan ) ever had a hand in writing, as the depth of the philosophical journey Ganymede takes really gave me a chance to stretch my legs and create a wonderfully relevant modern retelling of a classic Greek myth.

We are putting together a package of content that will enable readers to participate in contests by taking a quiz about the book written by me, its lead editor, and writing a review to be judged by the Mask of Ganymede Creator Team.

Things are truly beginning to take off, and so I’ll include a link to the secondary market for this book on OpenSea here just in case you come and read this post long after the tokens sell out.

https://opensea.io/collection/nftbookmaskofganymede-v2

Originally published at Cent. 1/1 NFT minted, giveaway coming soon. To participate, you may wish to read the NFTBook and write a review, then tweet it @Page_DAO.

Introducing the NFTBook: A New Platform for Literary Creatives was originally published in Work In Progress Publishing on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.

Halloween this year was extra special, because María Verde led a PAGE DAO team including myself and a handful of others to a successful NFTBook launch, a mere two weeks after the idea came up in the first place! The book is called Zombieverse and it’s short, but it’s a lot of fun. That’s just the beginning of it, too!

Thomas Dylan Daniel on Twitter: "I've just minted the first of many, many #NFTBOOKS I'm going to do by the end of the year. Congratulations to @drawsbymv on her first work of authorship! Congratulations to @drawsbymv on her first work of authorship! Books, meet blockchain. #amwriting #WritingCommunity @page_dao #NFT #NFTProject #NFTCommunity #BTC https://t.co/H5YFMepeFS

The Upcoming Month

November will be a very big month for WIPP, as several NFTBooks are planned. The PAGE token is doing well over at Uniswap despite massive gas fee increases on Ethereum Mainnet that have us scrambling for the exits to BSC or possibly Terra en route to our eventual goal of a Cosmos SDK application specific blockchain. The PAGE DAO is also doing very well, with membership increasing as utility is added to the PAGE token and voting has become available at Snapshot.

Thomas Dylan Daniel on Twitter: ""Society is rendered more deterministic by the immutable public ledger! This could change the world." #bitcoin $eth $atom @chejazi @kennylienhard_ @DigitalMehmet @philosophylinks #NFTart @TheMarjan @seobrien #NFTBOOKS https://t.co/CJvpThFKKm / Twitter"

"Society is rendered more deterministic by the immutable public ledger! This could change the world." #bitcoin $eth $atom @chejazi @kennylienhard_ @DigitalMehmet @philosophylinks #NFTart @TheMarjan @seobrien #NFTBOOKS https://t.co/CJvpThFKKm

As if all of this wasn’t enough, the Misfortune Mondays bot is now being used not only to mint NFTs to Rarible from the WIP Publishing Discord server but also to generate cover images for articles and all sorts of other surprising and innovative projects. Let’s look into each of these three major focus points and think a bit about how WIPP is best able to move forward.

NFTBooks

The main NFTBook in the works at the moment is the Hashmasks lore book we’re putting together in a historic partnership between WIPP, PAGE DAO, and MaskDAO spearheaded by myself and White Chocolate, a Hashmask collector who has put in a substantial amount of time to MaskDAO’s wellbeing. There are a bevy of new features that this flagship project from WIPP will ultimately include, but the emergence of a new writer known as Dazerine in the discord server is perhaps the most exciting part of it all. From Ireland, Dazerine found WIP Publishing through the TokenSmart show we’ve been doing for the past six months or so.

We launched a collaborative writing project called Pass the Pen back in September or perhaps August, and James Riordan-Waters and Ezincrypto stepped up to deliver an epic space pirate fantasy project. Dazerine was one of the main writers during these shows and, in addition to receiving pizza for his efforts from the PizzaDAO which graciously agreed to sponsor the event, he was also recruited by myself and White Chocolate. Our original writer grew tired of the project and left, which was a tragic development, but on a tight time schedule and having never done such a thing before, Dazerine took the chance and stepped up and delivered time after time to produce the greatest NFTBook yet. I’m proud to work with him and I’m proud that WIPP’s events provided him the opportunity to discover his innate talent for writing.

Thomas Dylan Daniel on Twitter: "Ever had a pizza with BOOKS on it before?!Js. Seems RARE AF to me! @RarePizzas pic.twitter.com/QnxmQUSA1x / Twitter"

Ever had a pizza with BOOKS on it before?!Js. Seems RARE AF to me! @RarePizzas pic.twitter.com/QnxmQUSA1x

Speaking of the PizzaDAO, work continues on the book we’re doing about the process! We expect to have an extraordinary work of art ready to mint before Christmas this year. The Rare Pizzas NFT launch is coming soon too, so be excited about that!

PAGE DAO

PAGE DAO got a few major upgrades in recent days. Snapshot is now live although Ethereum prices are hurting enrollment as most of the folks who want to purchase PAGE to become DAO members are small fish who can’t afford to spend upwards of $200 on the transaction fee — or maybe they don’t want to! We don’t blame you. That’s why the second big DAO-related announcement is that we’re working hard on getting PAGE off of mainnet Ethereum because it just isn’t right for our community. We don’t have anything specific to announce there just yet, but there are many irons in the fire.

Page DAO on Twitter: "There is serious business to discuss rn. Need your input https://t.co/gUMuxtDcKM / Twitter"

There is serious business to discuss rn. Need your input https://t.co/gUMuxtDcKM

DAO membership is also growing. We’re putting together a project to create membership NFTs to raise an initial DAO treasury and expand membership. Not only this but we’re looking at Terra and MATIC as mainnet solutions for these NFTs so that transaction fees don’t sabotage this project too. If you’re interested in joining PAGE DAO, you can start by following us on Twitter and joining our Discord to say hi. We’re actively recruiting writers and funding projects with the PAGE token, so come pitch us your story idea!

WIP Publishing Discord Bot

The discord bot was initially the brainchild of Phil, our COO at WIP Publishing. His thought was simple: here’s a use-case, let’s pick it up and run with it. And that’s exactly what we did. We hosted a live show in the discord and started by soliciting “misfortune” cookie one-liners from the audience. People really enjoyed that, but it wasn’t quite all Phil had in mind, so we did a call with Robbie and a bot was born. The bot searches Unsplash for stock photos and renders the text upon them in a semi-predictable way. When you play with it a bit, you develop a feel for how it works and this allows you to create more specific and intricate images.

Thomas Dylan Daniel on Twitter: "pic.twitter.com/sknhPjbivY / Twitter"

pic.twitter.com/sknhPjbivY

What’s more, in the discord we’ve begun to use the bot to have conversations. We have a handful of channels where it is featured, and we’re actively inviting writers of all stripes to use it to create and mint NFTs of cover images for articles. C’mon in, we’ll help you get it figured out.

Concluding Thoughts

November is going to be a wild month. If we pull off even half of what we’re aiming to accomplish this month, very good things will happen. Couple this with the uptick in interest in crypto from the general population and the rapid expansion of Cosmos SDK projects like Terra and Juno, and I believe it’s safe to say that some upgrades should be coming our way soon.

PS: Somehow I’ve managed to get all the way through this article without mentioning the NFTBook Bazaar, but rest assured we’re still working on that, too. News soon, but I realize there’s bound to be some fatigue on the subject because we’ve delayed production by three months at this point. That said, we do still have the beta up at wipp.nftbookbazaar.com if you’re dying to know what we’re talking about on that front. The final version of the app will be substantially different and contain a surprising breadth of features, so it’s all certainly very exciting stuff. Still, that said, we’re building a community first and there’s no need to wait. If you’re a writer or a reader or a techie, we’re probably going to get along great.

WIPP Monthly: November was originally published in Work In Progress Publishing on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.

WIPP shifts focus to PAGE DAO and writing projects, metaverse collabs abound!

Greetings, WIPPersnappers! September was such a busy month I almost forgot to write a WIPP Monthly for October! Plus I’m technically on “vacation” now — never fear, it’s more of a sabbatical. My goal is to set aside the main parts of working at WIPP for a few weeks to decompress and write some things. What better place to start than with this monthly update about all things WIPP and PAGE DAO?

Let’s take a moment to reflect on where we came from and then maybe compare that to where we are today. Back in April, WIPP was formed as a spinoff of the Libernet DAO. We had no technology, little interest, and our DAO was just a group of people who got together for phone calls here and there. Today we’ve built multiple platforms (and scrapped them, just wait til you see what we’re going to end up launching!), we’ve published over a dozen NFTBooks from small-time authors who see enough promise in blockchain to get out and start exploring the space even though things are still rough, and we’ve got a cryptocurrency that assists greatly in the various projects that are currently taking up so much of my time that I have to step back to write them up!

It’s quite the change overall. This monthly update will have three main subjects:

the WIPP transition from platform to project focus

the PAGE token’s utility for developing WIPP and PAGE projects

the NFTBook Bazaar’s development

The Work In Progress Publishing Company was founded to accomplish two main goals: to open up the publishing industry for people who have previously found themselves disenfranchised, and to build the technology needed to accomplish this goal. The second part is difficult but made simpler by a thriving open source community and an extraordinary team. The first part will take time to accomplish almost irrespective of anything else that might happen.

The two goals meet in the WIPP catalogue of NFTBooks, which is simultaneously a test-bed for the technologies we are working to bring to the publishing industry and also a compendium of talented Web3.0 writers who never stop innovating. Major NFT art projects have reached out to WIPP for assistance with particular projects, and the PAGE Token Airdrop has helped WIPP to facilitate relationships with other DAOs and projects throughout the space. There are already relationships from that drop that some of these projects continue and that we intend to keep continuing as time goes by.

The Willow Tree, by Elan Carson.

In particular, PFP projects have massive amounts of attention and general resources, but are mainly not telling stories yet. At WIPP, and at PAGE DAO, we aim to support and empower these projects by providing a publishing framework for Web3.0. But the relationships can go deeper still, as WIPP has been building a community of literature-oriented individuals and PAGE DAO gives that group a name and aims to create voting infrastructure and even a community treasury with which to facilitate the development of blockchain-based NFTBooks even further.

This renewed focus on writing projects of all stripes feels good to the team at WIPP, as traction seems even more inevitable than before, but it does come at the expense of the NFTBook Bazaar, our other main focus, to some extent. Nonetheless, we have contracted a designer to create a new application with a little help from a new friend. Hence, the development cycle continues, just in the background for now. Our first two platforms technically worked, but weren’t quite release-worthy, so we’ve chosen a new direction for iterative development and are now demonstrating our impressive juggling skills.

PAGE has proven a successful enterprise, despite a relatively low price per token. Ethereum has appreciated recently, and this appreciation has benefited PAGE by stabilizing the price as a handful of team members and even the WIPP wallet sold some of their holdings into the LP. PAGE’s days as a social token are over, now, however, as the team works to integrate governance. Right now there are multiple ways to earn the DAO member role in the WIPP discord, but the PAGE DAO snapshot site is only available to those who hold 100 PAGE or some PAGE/ETH LP tokens in their connected Metamask wallet.

Thanks for following along and don’t forget to follow WIPP on Twitter! Our DMs are open, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re a writer or aspiring PAGE DAO member.

Thomas Dylan Daniel on Twitter: "I'm on vacation and it is very, very relaxing. So proud of the team at @wippublishing and @page_dao Loads of people around the metaverse deserve my gratitude and I want you all to know you have it.

Why, your gateway to the internet of blockchains, of course.

A Cosmos SDK Blockchain involves 3 parts. The first is the state machine, which records the changing states of the network. The second is the network, which essentially consists of all of the users who hold the token, including but not limited to the validators who keep the network online. The third part is the cryptocurrency itself; a coin because it is used to ensure financial reconciliation for transactions that take place on the network. The purpose of a Cosmos SDK Blockchain is to ensure that users pay to use the network and validators are paid to keep the network online; set it up right and it becomes something like a perpetual motion machine nobody owns. Cosmos SDK Blockchains are special because they facilitate faster, more secure transactions than other blockchains can offer, while also keeping costs several orders of magnitude lower than comparable actions on say the Ethereum blockchain.

Cosmos SDK blockchains share a common protocol between them, written in the Go programming language. This protocol, known as IBC, allows assets from these chains to be transferred efficiently between the various different Cosmos SDK blockchain environments. DEXes will supply liquidity in the form of ERC-20 tokens and even Bitcoins and other wrapped assets, and community-built Cosmos SDK-powered applications will make a rich variety of open-source applications possible. These blockchains are all essentially distinct from one another, and hence do not need to compete with each other for access to validation etc., but nonetheless there are limits to the protocol’s throughput. Individual applications may need to become sharded to scale entirely, but the decentralized Byzantine Fault Tolerance mechanism which powers Tendermint consensus is able to secure the network more effectively than other consensus mechanisms. Cosmos SDK throughput and security are thus both industry-leading, and fees at the present time are still low enough that the network is effectively free to use.

Due to the protocol nature of Cosmos SDK technologies, it is possible to create Cosmos SDK blockchain applications rapidly and for many to scale simultaneously. As the project is open source, new development teams emerge with some regularity. Cosmos SDK is thus a community-led project with the goal at its heart to create a new sort of internet: Web3.0; the internet of blockchains.

The Cosmos SDK

The Cosmos SDK is a development kit designed to make it easy and fast to spin up Cosmos SDK blockchains. I’ve done this a few times now, despite my cursory knowledge of Go, and I can vouch for the notion that yes, it is possible to rapidly create a blockchain. However, it takes a good deal of time to build this basic blockchain into anything in particular, application-wise. A developer I work with has taken up the task of performing a pull request on the Cosmos SDK Tutorials on GitHub. Find these tutorials here. Thus far, he has completed one of them and his findings are that the software does in fact work, but a few issues prevent tutorial completion on the IDE provided in the browser by the Cosmos team for the purposes of demoing the software.

Regen Network on Twitter: "Special shout out to the Regen Network Development dev team for the v0.43 release of the @cosmos SDK. We know how hard you have been working and we all see you. ⚛️👏🚀 https://t.co/lfijGhKnEu #teamwork #community / Twitter"

Special shout out to the Regen Network Development dev team for the v0.43 release of the @cosmos SDK. We know how hard you have been working and we all see you. ⚛️👏🚀 https://t.co/lfijGhKnEu #teamwork #community

The issues primarily result from the rapid iterative development going on behind the scenes at Tendermint. The SDK is changing rapidly (scaffolding is being upgraded, for example) and some of the changes are breaking changes. This robust development environment, rather than a hindrance because it makes getting involved with Cosmos a bit more difficult, is instead a major selling point for Cosmos, as the vision behind the network is significantly further-reaching than anything that seems to be going on with respect to Ethereum or most of the L2 solutions — a very nice thing to see in conjunction with so much hard work by so many talented developers. The teams who are so evidently hard at work are what is different from other blockchain environments; to be long Cosmos is as simple as it is to be long on Sunny Aggarwal, Zaki Manian, and Gregory Landau.

This overview represents the general state of my understanding of these matters at this time, and as a result there may be some things which need to be clarified in the future. I’m looking forward to learning more about my favorite visionary blockchain project, so please feel free to enlighten me or elaborate on any part of this document! Cheers. Ethermint (Cosmos SDK version of the Ethereum state machine) is going to change everything by offering a secure and cost-effective solution that works well with native Ethereum applications to teams throughout the metaverse.

Ethermint on Twitter: "If you're interested in joining, please complete the validator form no later than 🚨Sunday, Aug 15th🚨📄Validator Form: https://t.co/C4K6EczxLK👾 Official Discord: https://t.co/uRTRDUR6t0🕊Twitter: https://t.co/cZubkM7kr7🐙 GitHub: https://t.co/xHTbkIdQYE / Twitter"

If you're interested in joining, please complete the validator form no later than 🚨Sunday, Aug 15th🚨📄Validator Form: https://t.co/C4K6EczxLK👾 Official Discord: https://t.co/uRTRDUR6t0🕊Twitter: https://t.co/cZubkM7kr7🐙 GitHub: https://t.co/xHTbkIdQYE

Originally published at https://crypto.writer.io on August 18, 2021.

What is the Cosmos SDK? was originally published in Work In Progress Publishing on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.

See for yourself at etherscan.io, use this contract address: 0x60e683c6514edd5f758a55b6f393bebbafaa8d5e. If you haven’t been following along, feel free to peruse this month’s update here. We sent all of the remaining PAGE token supply to the multisig array which will allow for fair and verifiable transactions. Following successful creation of our TosDis smart contract, it has been relatively simple to set up the rest of the smart contracts needed to distribute the PAGE token.

In this document, we’ll go over the rules and distributions in some detail, explaining how we set things up along the way. It’s important to say that we, the WIPP dev team and the under-construction PAGE DAO, know we would not be here without support and encouragement from our community and teams. It has taken a lot of work to get here, and most of it has been uncompensated. The fairness of the PAGE distribution model will allow maximal decentralization by fairly compensating newcomers and founding team members alike. Participation in governance and transactions on the network are metrics PAGE will eventually measure, in order to accurately incentivize behaviors and thereby improve network performance.

Multisig 1: 3,000,000 PAGE tokens vested over 18 months to build out the network (development & strategic reserve).

Multisig 2: 500,000 PAGE tokens vested over 18 months to the Founding Team (Founders’ Pool).

Multisig 3: 3,450,000 PAGE tokens, with 2M vesting over 18 months and 1.45M to be distributed over 16 months to other community organizations (Community Pool).

Total multisig + vesting token distribution: 6,950,000. This leaves 50,000 tokens which have gone to TrustSwap and 3,000,000 that are locked up in the TosDis smart contract as Liquidity Mining Incentives, for a total of 10M PAGE.

Each multisig wallet will eventually have a diverse board of signatories, and each revenue stream from each is potentially its own multisig, which could make it easier to more thoroughly decentralize the network.

Total setup cost was about 60k PAGE tokens, including just over 10k to set up Unicrypt’s vesting system and 50k to the TrustSwap community fund.

Liquidity Mining Incentive Participation Guide

To participate in liquidity mining, you must first stake PAGE against ETH on Uniswap in equal value. You can do this by navigating to the Uniswap pool here. Then connect your wallet, choose your deposit amount, and confirm your transaction(s). It will ask for a signature, to authorize use of your PAGE tokens, the first time you attempt to spend PAGE tokens. There is a small ETH transaction fee to complete this permission, then afterward the system remembers.

https://app.uniswap.org/#/add/v2/0x60e683c6514edd5f758a55b6f393bebbafaa8d5e/ETH

The second step is to wait for your transaction to confirm on the network, but when that’s done you can move on to step 3, approving PAGE spends via TosDis. It takes a one-time transaction which right now is around $10. When you’ve got PAGE approved, you should see a screen like this:

https://app.tosdis.finance/poolView?pool=0xafee6e3a2f029d87456d500119603d8a1f600272

Click ‘stake’ to add your LP Tokens to the staking pool. There is no minimum lockup period, but the first-come, first-served model will distribute the largest per-LPT rewards. What this means is that, as time goes by, it will become less lucrative to supply PAGE liquidity, depending on how many liquidity providers arrive. There are 3M total PAGE tokens available to be claimed this way, which incentivizes liquidity providers to come as soon as possible and stay as long as they are able. The heart of any major blockchain project is a healthy and decentralized cryptocurrency; welcome to PAGE.

Thomas Dylan Daniel on Twitter: "Coming this evening: in @wippublishing news, tokenomics is here. We've completed the buildout that will manage the initial PAGE token distribution for the next 18mos! / Twitter"

Coming this evening: in @wippublishing news, tokenomics is here. Coming 8/11.

Greetings, citizens of the world! Work in Progress Publishing has been hard at work for another month, and we have more exciting news for you. Not only has work continued on the NFTBook Bazaar, a project we hope to have live as a beta by September 1, 2021… we have launched our own cryptocurrency: the PAGE token. View our liquidity mining guide here.

The PAGE Token

PAGE is live on Uniswap v2 but will not be fully functional until the DAO Drop has been completed. In fact, the function of this article will be to explain why we’re giving all the tokens away and what a DAO-as-product model of DAO creation could do for DAOs in general.

First, the high-level stuff. We’ve created 10,000,000 PAGEs to release to the market on Ethereum. This is all of the PAGE we intend to ever create on ETH, as an ERC-20 token. We have plans to release 100,000,000 PAGEs on Cosmos soon, however, as the staking and governance available via Cosmos SDK appears to be the most advanced available. So the plan is to run a tentative launch in which PAGE becomes available on Ethereum and we build out proof-of-concept using grants of PAGE.

When we have arrived at a functional proof-of-concept, the intention of WIP Publishing is to build the first IBC-compatible library and launch it as a freestanding DAO governed by various mechanisms including PAGE tokens, NFTBooks, and participatory governance. The more involved people are, the more rewards and incentives they can accumulate. It is the intention of the nascent PAGE DAO to eventually put every book onto the PAGE chain, minimize transactional costs, and by so doing make all of the books available to all of the world’s people while incentivizing translations and other collaborative enterprises in the written word.

Legally, the DAO-as-product model is a rather ironclad way for an organization to release a cryptocurrency. It is important for WIPP to give up control as soon as the technology required for governance becomes functional, as market manipulation and over-reserved tokens do not play well with the SEC. So instead, the company will give rise to an organization which will soon tower above its humble beginnings and recruit other startups and groups to work beside WIPP to earn PAGEs by assisting in the mission: bring all the books to the blockchain in a way which facilitates compliance with all applicable legal statutes both American and otherwise.

The financial power of DeFi is only increasing as the algorithms become more widely used; it is now possible, therefore, to launch a technology startup without major VC interest or even much traction with angel investors because the need in the market that these folks used to fill can now be accomplished via airdrops and liquidity pools. Typical startup investors see a return on their money (which they lose access to upon investment) in 4–9 years. Providers in a liquidity pool can pull their funds, lower or raise the amount of ETH/PAGE they hold, and take profit any time they like. The value is two-way: WIPP doesn’t have so many legal hurdles to jump, which diminishes the risk and lowers expenses, and liquidity providers aren’t really investors in the traditional sense so they are able to remain more liquid themselves than investors in startup companies.

LIVE: the PAGE token on Uniswap

Though the PAGE token is already live on Uniswap, WIPP does not have sufficient Ethereum to make it liquid enough to be tradeable by the masses just yet. What this means in practice is that even small trades cause a dramatic shift in terms of the market-set value of the token, i.e., its price. Since a trade for PAGE adds ETH to the liquidity pool and takes PAGE out, and a trade for ETH does the same thing in reverse, a healthy pool needs plenty of tokens to go around so that people can buy and sell them at will.

Right now, almost nobody has any PAGE tokens. This is by design; as WIPP intends to create liquidity mining incentives to encourage others to participate in PAGE token distribution by supplying liquid Ethereum to the pool. 30% of the total PAGE supply is going to Ethereum liquidity miners, and the smart contract to distribute the rules has not yet been written. So instead of releasing the tokens to the DAO Drop Recipients who will be named in the next section of this newsletter only to see extreme volatility in a new market which could potentially represent risk for liquidity providers, the PAGE DAO founding team has chosen to wait to send the grants until liquidity mining incentives are enabled at 12:00 AM EST on August 11.

The token has virtually no circulating supply and hence is essentially frozen in time for the moment, but the initial grants will be distributed as they’re accepted by participating organizations and we hope to have them all out by September 1, 2021.

The DAO Drop

The PAGE token launch strategy reserves 15% of total PAGE supply for distribution to participating organizations from around the metaverse. This would not be possible without the social genius of founder Ezra Levinger, aka Ezincrypto. EZ has a far-reaching network of friends and allies around the metaverse, an ability which has enabled his projects to grow rapidly by contributing to a community larger than themselves. Many prominent Metaverse Communities and DAOs have members who started off at Cent (beta.cent.co) and have gone on to do remarkable things. PAGE DAO recognizes the importance of the original Cent mission; to enable creators to earn a living by creating what they love to create, and aims to take it one step further by elevating the standards of living for online creators even higher.

Creative thought and action have few limits. It is important to focus on multiple avenues if the intention is to develop technologies capable of benefiting everyone. As such, PAGE DAO’s founding team has been in touch with dozens of DAOs and other organizations throughout the metaverse. The DAO Drop strategy involves three “drops” of 550,000, 500,000, and 450,000 PAGE tokens each over a sixteen month timeframe. The initial drop will involve 10 organizations, all of whom have voiced interest in participation and will be free to participate in any way they choose. The second drop will feature five large organizations and the final drop will feature as many individual creators as possible.

The 10 organizations to receive unconditional PAGE grants of 50,000–100,000 tokens are as follows:

1. (100,000 PAGE) Cryptowriter

https://crypto.writer.io/

Cryptowriter is the first publication to pick me up and run with my writing, so thanks to them for that! Also, Cryptowriter has been a supporter of the project that led to PAGE longer than anyone else. As a thank-you to these community leaders and as a gesture of support for the important mission of getting the word out about crypto, the top grant goes straight to Cryptowriter.

2. (50,000 PAGE) Tokensmart

https://discord.gg/nft

Tokensmart is a Discord server where people can hang out and have fun, while also learning new things about cryptocurrency and NFT projects. WIP Publishing has had a show in Tokensmart for several months at this point — Wednesdays at 10:30AM PST, be there or be square!

3. (50,000 PAGE) Cipher

https://cipher.media/

Cipher is a lot like WIPP. We even share a cofounder, EZincrypto! The Cipher mission is to do for hip hop what WIPP wants to do for books. That is, create and refine Web3.0 technologies to provide these content forms for audiences everywhere.

4. (50,000 PAGE) VR Graffiti Battles

https://eosnation.io/virtual-reality-graffiti-battles/

VR Graffiti Battles needs no introduction! They’re launching their own token soon, and PAGE DAO intends to work with RaidGuild to build technology. A decentralized Web3.0 skunkworks, RaidGuild is worth a look if you have a strong idea that’s ready for prime time.

6. (50,000 PAGE) LADz City

https://twitter.com/ladzcity?lang=en

LADz City is an organization with a massive membership base and a never-ending stream of killer events all backed up by Web3.0 technologies. PAGE DAO looks forward to the partnership with LADz, and a token swap is in the works even beyond the DAO Drop in the immediate future.

7. (50,000 PAGE) MaskDAO

https://twitter.com/mskDAO

MaskDAO is the community side of the famous Hashmasks art project. The Hashmasks themselves are undergoing development and can now be named, so why not longer content blocks? We may find out soon!

8. (50,000 PAGE) TosDis

https://app.tosdis.finance/guide

TosDis is the provider which is enabling the Liquidity Mining Incentive program, so our hat is off to this team! Smart contracts are difficult to work with, but an audited contract often has more than one potential application. We’re thrilled that TosDis has made their contract available to the public.

9. (50,000 PAGE) Charged Particles

https://twitter.com/DefiNft

Charged Particles is a revolutionary new smart contract platform for NFTs that enables users to lock things (tokens, other NFTs, be creative!) into NFTs for users to claim after they purchase.

10. (50,000 PAGE) TrustSwap

https://www.trustswap.org/

TrustSwap has served over 7500 different crypto projects over time, and we are no different at PAGE DAO. The PAGE ERC-20 token was minted with TrustSwap and while the 50,000 PAGEs that went to TrustSwap are already out, the tokens are earmarked for the TrustSwap community and we couldn’t be happier about it.

Coming Soon: Liquidity Mining Incentives

The PAGE Token will be released upon the successful automation of Liquidity Mining Incentives, powered by TosDis and Uniswap v2.

https://app.tosdis.finance/poolView?pool=0xafee6e3a2f029d87456d500119603d8a1f600272

When the contract launches at Midnight EST on August 11, 3,000,000 PAGEs will be staked into it as rewards to be paid out over time to liquidity providers who choose to stake their liquidity pool tokens into the incentive pool. Simply stake ETH & PAGE into the Uniswap pool at this address and then navigate to the PAGE + ETH LP Token Staking page here. This incentive will run for 18 months from the date of launch, and will continue to incentivize Ethereum liquidity provision until it runs out.

https://app.uniswap.org/#/add/v2/0x60e683c6514edd5f758a55b6f393bebbafaa8d5e/ETH

Another 100M tokens may be launched on Cosmos at a later time, and the best thing to do will likely be to allow people to burn ERC-20 tokens to receive Cosmos versions which will enable staking and liquidity on Cosmos-native platforms while continuing to provide rewards on the Ethereum blockchain which started it all.

In the coming weeks, the organizations receiving PAGE grants will be receiving their tokens and deciding what to do with them. Some will sell, some will HODL, and some will provide liquidity. Some may institute programs to drop their tokens to DAO and/or community members, and some will devise even more complicated strategies to maximize the mutual benefit created by the unique strategy behind the PAGE token. To read more about the inspiration for this strategy, have a look at Osmosis.

As a result of this process, it may be the case that some organizations receive their tokens before others. Nothing beyond liquidity mining incentives can be done to stabilize the price of the PAGE token at this early stage, but with community-assisted price discovery, it is likely that a reasonably stable token launch is in store.

Eventually, users will be able to use PAGE tokens to trade for NFTBooks and perhaps earn rewards for certain behaviors that benefit the network as volume mining incentives are developed. PAGE DAO is an open organization and will be looking to continue to create mutually beneficial relationships with other organizations in the crypto/NFT space.

PageDAO on Twitter: "This is only the beginning. $PAGE #PageDAO #NFTWhitePaper #PageToken #PageCrypto #NFTBook #NFTBooks #NFTs #FreeKnowledge @wippublishing @nftsmart @seobrien @bitcoinpendium @cosmos $ETH @ladzcity @maskdao https://t.co/DPiPPCkLyd / Twitter"

This is only the beginning. $PAGE #PageDAO #NFTWhitePaper #PageToken #PageCrypto #NFTBook #NFTBooks #NFTs #FreeKnowledge @wippublishing @nftsmart @seobrien @bitcoinpendium @cosmos $ETH @ladzcity @maskdao https://t.co/DPiPPCkLyd

Follow us on Twitter @pagedao and @wippublishing and @thomasdylandan2 and @booksonchain to keep up with the latest, and we’ll continue to work on the Web3.0 standard for books.

LIVE: NFTBook Alpha (a striking new layout). ALSO LIVE: NFTBook Bazaar Alpha (an automated platform to create & trade NFTBooks).

Greetings WIPPersnappers! It’s another lovely day in the land of blockchain, as we announce not one, but TWO! major technical milestones have been reached. We have the beautiful new NFTBook Alpha layout to iteratively develop and roll out to ALL existing NFTBooks, and we also have the automated NFTBook Bazaar to facilitate NFTBook creation and trading.

NOW LIVE: NFTBook Alpha (a striking new layout).

ALSO LIVE: NFTBook Bazaar Alpha (an automated platform to create & trade NFTBooks).

AND ONE MORE THING…

It’s my pleasure to announce the NFTBook Bazaar Beta Launch, which will take place on July 28, 2021. Head over to https://nftbookbazaar.com/ for an exclusive sneak peek into the new tech.

NFTBook Alpha Sneak Peek: Bring Back Satire at OpenSea https://opensea.io/assets/0xd9c6e5e525bf60716351cd316110bd461389d94f/2

NFTBook Alpha was developed as a prettier way to display NFTBook content across all platforms, and is currently available as a preview via OpenSea.io. Simply click the link to access the new layout (the classic layout is still available as well via the “View” button in the OpenSea UI). NFTBook Alpha offers native support for text and audio as well as a beautiful layout for the book. Since these files are saved as “Interactive” HTML files, they’re all going to require one less click on the part of a user to get involved. We still encourage desktop viewing for now, but eventually these NFTs will completely support mobile as well.

The NFTBook Bazaar has been under development for about a month now, and is currently in “Alpha” status. What this means is that the core of the application exists and works, but we’re going to need to build out a great deal more to reach a stable release. When we do reach stable status, however, users will be able to use the internet’s FIRST NFTBook platform to buy, sell, trade, and who even knows what all else?

How It Happened:

From all of us here at WIP Publishing, it’s a pleasure to announce that our first major and concerted effort to bring our concept into existence has come and gone. Our goal was a lofty one, but achievable: follow the Moralis tutorial to clone Rarible and style the application to suit our NFTBooks in particular. We got an early start last month, and it now appears that we’ll be able to get our platform to the Ethereum Mainnet by the end of this month. We want to send a HUGE shout-out to the team at Moralis for making this an achievable project — we actually got the demo going in a single weekend!

As this is the first major project release for WIPP, and as I’m doing it via my personal account on Medium here, I want to take a moment to introduce anyone who has been following me to the team of rock stars who have come together to make this all possible.

The Dream Team

CIO: Robbie Pollock

Robbie Pollock

Robbie joined our team just after the NFTBook Genesis release. A veteran programmer with many projects under his belt, Robbie hasn’t been formally employed in a programming field before, working instead in publishing and in particular, on the humanitarian side of the industry: Robbie helps inmates by working with them to produce written works. Robbie’s relative lack of experience in a corporate development environment was actually a selling point for me, as he’s more task-oriented and comes to the project more as a technical cofounder than as a hired gun who needs close supervision.

CTO: David Noya

David Noya

David Noya has been working in this direction awhile, and after scrapping his own project to assist in founding Libernet after we had a short phone call last January, I have come to realize that David is beginning to really come into his own as a programmer capable of building and maintaining his own applications. What this essentially means is that David has constructed a very large codebase that Robbie and Phil are currently working to adapt to meet the minimum specifications of our user requirements. As alpha testing progresses, David only seems to get stronger.

CPO: Philip Loyd

Philip Loyd

Phil and I have known each other since 2016, and have worked together on three or four projects before this one. Until this weekend, I’d never seen him take the time to learn a new skill on the fly before, though I knew well he had a serious talent for doing so. Phil is a design thinker with a reputation as the guy to talk to about getting a product out there in working order. Phil helped us get an early start and has kept the group heading the right direction by being available and being able to jump into almost any project anyone on the team is working on.

CMO: EZINCRYPTO (Ezra Levinger)

EZINCRYPTO

EZ is a California native who spends a lot of time getting close to lots of different crypto projects. He leads our promotional efforts and does a lot of business development work to ensure that our concepts are represented and new partnerships keep coming in. EZ and I were the pair who originally had the idea of a token-gated NFT magazine last summer during the pandemic.

CCO: Erick Stow

Erick Stow

Erick’s art has come a long way since we first met back in high school. Now he spends a lot of time working on art in support of our efforts here at WIPP. If you see a banner or logo, there’s a great chance Erick was behind it. Read more about Erick here, in the bio piece I did about him earlier this year.

CEO: Me, Thomas Dylan Daniel

Thomas Dylan Daniel (art by Erick Stow)

If you’re wondering what I have to do with all of this, I’m the guy whose idea it was to try to build the Legend of the Library of Alexandria on the blockchain last year. My role in the technical development of the project has been relatively minimal, save for moral support and a few insights. Instead, I’m the guy who built the NFTBook Genesis tokens and inspired this burst of creativity. My main role these days is to stay out of the way, offer encouragement and direction when necessary, and will soon shift to full-time fundraising as the dAPP gets off the ground.

Conclusions

If you’ve been following along, good for you. You’ll have a front-row seat for what comes next. If you’re new to the NFTBook space, that’s even better! Be sure to like and share this article to help spread the word: WIP Publishing is releasing a platform that will allow authors to mint their own NFTBooks as well as an official partnership authors can engage for an additional fee of 5% of their minted NFTBooks (limited space available!) to be represented by WIPP!

*** INVITAR A ALFATESTERS*** ← YOU ARE HERE!!!

Lanzamos el NFTBook Bazaar by WIPP (Alpha) was originally published in Work In Progress Publishing on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.

The time has come. The first NFTBook marketplace is born! Come on in and see the NFTBook Bazaar by WIPP!

We are so excited to announce this, at last. In fact, being able to actually show things to people is super cool, and just not talk about the “idea” at least for the one writing these words. After some weeks of arduous work, we are super proud to be able to present to all of you the alpha version of what we think should be the “book corner” on the Blockchain.

For the ones reading about Work In Progress publishing for the first time, hello there! We are the ones that are going to revolutionize the book publishing industry by leveraging the power of the Blockchain. We can say this because we are that serious about this.

The book industry is too archaic and there is too much rust on their clogs. We now have the tools to change this, it is just a matter of putting them all together to update the publishing industry and make them up to this times.

We have a dream. A dream in which writing is again only between the writer and the reader, and the interactions that are born from there. It is a future in which authors have more success in monetizing their work, but readers also can gain more than entertainment from reading.

Have you ever wondered how much the authors get from their works? Authors are rarely paid well unless signed to a publisher (the average author makes only a few thousand dollars a year). If you could Highlight with different colors the words on the book you are reading depending on who gets paid for those words, your mind will probably explode.

Not only that, but think about all the people that do not have access to a good library due to censorship, poor country logistics, or whatever reasons… We can change that also, with cellphone, mobile data and the Blockchain!

That’s why a group of cryptopunks, writers and readers found themselves asking the same question, after seeing what happened last summer with the “crypto-art renaissance”. Why don’t do the same thing with books?

And so a REALLY BIG idea started to inflate, until we realized we should do as Jack the Ripper did, and go by parts an WIPP concept was born, because in the end, we, as is the publishing industry, are a Work In Progress.

…But wait! there is more!

Please do not underestimate us! The fact that we start with this basic dApp with the basics features of a marketplace does not mean that it will stay like that forever. Our mission is to not only create the tools and infrastructure so authors are able to seamlessly publish their books as NFTs, but to also help, guide, and educate in the process.

We are pretty aware on the Tech-gap that could be on our main source of content, but that’s why we are willing to share the creating process of the platform from the ciments, so people can see, touch, and say what they think is cool or not, so we get the best possible user experience for everyone. And I will talk more about this in a bit.

What we want any person reading this to understand is that, we do not want to only transform Books on NFTs (which is also pretty cool by itself, if you ask us, anyway), but we want to iterate on the meaning of a Digital Book. Truly make the Digital part of the name to really mean that.

Could we unlock books as collectibles? As collateral for lendings? Are books now gonna be a Digital experience? collaborative? All of these questions will be answered if you stick with us, so don’t forget to subscribe to all our socials!

PRODUCT ROADMAP

So what are our most important next steps? Well, in general terms, we want it to be something like this:

V1.0 — MVP environment on testnet (July 7st)

✅ Allow authors to mint/publish their books (w/ERC 721)

✅ Allow anyone to buy NFT Books

✅ Access books in “My Library”

✅ Read books after buying (embedded)

✅ Resell books

✅ Testnet

Disclaimer pop-up + banner to notify users of experimental test software… it’s not real money (yet)

*** INVITE BETA TESTERS *** ← YOU ARE HERE!!!

v1.1 — Implement batch minting w/ERC 1155 & Royalties

v1.2— Book Pages

v1.3 — User Profiles

v1.4 — Launch Mainnet

v2.0 — LFG!!!

A lot of surprises.

Books as Experiences

Wearables from books

And MOAR books.

BAZAAR-O TESTERS WANTED

So now that you know who we are, and what we are up to, you can consider yourself a WIPPerson. Congratulations. You are now hooked up, and can join our Discord community without any resistance from us.

If you want to, you can become ONE OF OUR ALPHA TESTERS. Because yes, you can have the chance to be among the first WIPPeople to try our platform. Do not worry, we have POAPs, NFTs giveaways and all that kind of cool stuff prepared will you decide to help us help you.

As final words, we just want to thank you for reading all the way down here, and even more if you decide to start this journey with us!

NFTBook Bazaar by WIPP (Alpha) Launch was originally published in Work In Progress Publishing on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.
