Today’s word of the day is cheer, and we must include if you only knew somewhere in our drabble!

Well, hello there! Thanks for coming to enjoy my story. You’re encouraged to stay over 30 seconds so that we know you’ve stopped by. If you like what I’ve written, great! Throw out some claps, highlights, and a comment before you go. I really appreciate you- thank you.

Summer was practically over. Alison used to love taking her adorable kids to the beach for the day.

Her ‘kids’ were now young teenagers, and pretty much entertained themselves, usually on their phones all day. They’d argue for the customary right of who got to choose the TV programming at meal times, and that could be quite a ruckus if you only knew.

School would be starting soon, and while most parents were inevitably cheering, Alison couldn’t help but wish for more time. Maybe they could get to the beach, or the park, or anything they once did happily…together.
