Random word: Family

Patty wanted to help people, and working as a mental health counselor allowed her to do that.

She loved working in a field she was passionate about.

But her mom and sister thought Patty was crazy…

They didn’t understand the point of working hard when you could marry rich…

Her sister, Rudy, and her Mom, Rita, only cared about appearances and associating with the “right” kind of people.

Doing things for others was beneath them.

“Patty, we don’t get why you like listening to poor people whine about their pathetic lives all day,” said, Rudy, as Rita nodded in unison.

“Helping people gives me purpose, not that either of you knows what that is,” said Patty.

“Speaking of purpose, get those snaggle toes to the salon,” laughed Rudy.

Patty rolled her eyes, remaining silent.

Her so-called family would never recognize that life was more than butt lifts and Bentleys.
