Drabble word, ‘almost.’

A drabble is a story exactly 100 words the story built around one specific word. Today the featured word is, ‘almost.’

It broke online first.

It then became the big news everywhere.

The President of the United States was reputed to have cheated on his wife.

All hell broke loose!

The scandal sheet for whom I reported scored an exclusive.

I was assigned the interview.

We did an hour of one on one, no interruptions — no other reporters, no third parties advising her.

Just the two of us.

Here’s what I observed:

She almost beautiful.

She was almost brilliant.

She was almost successful.

She was almost sophisticated.

But she was none of those things.

She was young and he was old.
