Flexa and Electric Coin Co. are giving away a special ZEC treat

When we added support for ZEC payments on Flexa late last summer, we weren’t sure what kind of adoption to expect given Zcash’s special focus on privacy and self-sovereignty. But in the year since, we’ve been delighted to see ZEC become our 5th most frequently spent digital currency, accounting for more than one in every fifteen transactions on the Flexa network.

Since then, we’ve also been fortunate to partner with Electric Coin Company (supporters of Zcash) on several initiatives toward our mission of making digital currency more accessible to everyone around the globe — including the recently-launched Crypto in Context program, which knits digital currency–focused projects and businesses more closely together with underserved and underexposed communities.

This Wednesday, October 28, the Zcash community will celebrate the fourth anniversary of the mining of the Zcash genesis block, shortly followed by the first Zcash halving event and the Canopy network upgrade in November. And with so many reasons to celebrate, we’re partnering with Electric Coin Company to share a special birthday gift with the Zcash community: a free $10 of ZEC to spend on ice cream and cake using the SPEDN app!

Here’s how to join in the fun:

1. Download or open your SPEDN app, available on both iOS and Android.
2. Tap the settings button in the upper right corner, and enter the promo code HBDZEC to get a $10 ZEC credit added to your Zcash wallet.
3. Between now and November 18, 2020, spend your credit at any Baskin–Robbins or Dunkin’ location through the United States and get a Zcash birthday treat on us!
