Now you can have complete control over what you include from your RSS feeds in your RSS-to-email newsletters, how these are styled and any additional elements you want to include to engage your subscribers.

Not all RSS Feeds are the same.

Not all RSS-to-Email campaigns are the same.

Now, you can fully customise the output of your automated RSS feeds and posts within your FlipRSS newsletters.

Automate your email newsletter from multiple RSS feeds, personalise the content based on individual subscriber preferences and style your newsletter content any way you want.

How RSS-to-Email is currently styled in FlipRSS

Previously, we offered two basic layouts — ‘Block’ and ‘Inline’. They both include Feed Title, Item Title, Image and Summary. Block has a full-width image with title and summary below; Inline has the image alongside title and summary.

With the new custom template you can create any layout and style any way you want. You can change the ratio of the image size, change the position, introduce new fields and include additional elements that are not in your existing feed.

Include additional content from RSS feeds

If you have additional fields, even if they are non-standard RSS fields, you can include those within your newsletter and style each element independently.

A perfect example of this is Lorzy, an eBook retailer offering free and discounted titles. Lorzy is now able to include the deal price of the book, the previous price and the saving — all individually styled to highlight the saving made and the current price.

It may be that as a publisher you want to include more information about an author with a short bio and author pic or include share price or indication of stock price change if you’re a financial institution. The thing is — if you can include it in your feed, you can use it within your RSS-to-email newsletter.

Changing the default language

With full control of what is extracted from the RSS feed and the output of the newsletter, you can edit everything from the extract shown to the call-to-action used. This has enabled FlipRSS customers to change default call-to-actions like ‘Read more’ to their native language and style as they require.

Rather than this being inlined with the description or extract from the post, this can now be separated and turned into a button or a highlighted call-to-action.

Adding more than fields

It’s not just limited to the content within your feeds. You are now able to add other elements like social sharing icons that would not appear or be included within your RSS feed. This offers greater flexibility and a much higher level of customisation.

How to create custom RSS to Email templates

This feature is available to all Enterprise plan customers by request. Each template is developed specifically for your requirements and can be applied at the campaign level. All we require is either a detailed description of requirements or ideally a mock-up of how the newsletter should look and we’ll create the template to match.

As this is applied at the campaign level, you can have different templates for each campaign you run if required.
