We’ve been saying it for days now — something big is coming to Flipside Crypto. Now that something is finally here.

Flipside has spent the last nine months overhauling our Chainwalker technology to be more robust and support more chains more quickly with higher fidelity. Now, we’re excited to be launching several crucial chains to our app in the coming days — including Arbitrum, Avalanche, BSC, Fantom, Gnosis, and Optimism — and making major upgrades to our Polygon data.

This also marks a commitment by Flipside to support more Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) chains and Layer 2s as we see innovation and development increase on them.

Introducing Lite Mode Datasets

We are eager to get data into the community’s hands as soon as we start to have it, and we are committed to building in public. So we are introducing the concept of “Lite Mode” datasets, which will temporarily have more recent backfill dates as we continue to gather data, and build curated models on top.

Starting now, core data for Optimism and BSC is available and ready to be used. Our team is hard at work putting the finishing touches on data for Arbitrum, Avalanche, Fantom, and Gnosis, plus migration of Polygon data to Chainwalkers v2.

Run a query and find information for any transaction you want. Want to see swaps on BSDC? Done. The most popular pools on Polygon? Can do. The most optimized models of recent happenings on Optimism? Easy.

And to celebrate the launch of these new datasets, we’ve got bounties for Optimism unlocking now and open to anyone (find them here), as well as Avalanche bounties on Friday. Plus, we’ll have bounties on other projects soon™️.

More in the Works

Flipside users will see some other improvements to the analyst experience in the coming days and weeks, including improved query and dashboard searches, a revamped dashboard building experience, and a reimagined analyst workflow. We are so excited to share these updates with you, with many more coming soon.

Lite Mode data allows us to share new datasets for more chains with our users as soon as possible. This means you’ll see more chains in the coming days, and min block timestamps will be fairly recent.

Rest assured all datasets will be backfilled with more historical data, and more views curated for them over time. In the meantime, you will notice a Lite Mode sapling emoji (🌱) next to datasets that are in this stage of development.

We also want to start gathering community feedback on the data, and potential models earlier in our data curation process. We value your comments on this new data in the #feedback channel on Discord!

Soon, we’ll introduce the next stage of our data, which will include historical and backfilled data sets. As we backfill these datasets and add curated views, these icons will be removed.

We’ll share more information on when you can expect that process to be complete in the near future. (Plus, some info on how you can get even more access to Flipside’s data via our SDK 👀🍄)

But for now, we encourage you to go explore, play around, and see what you can create with all this great new data.

Speaking of which…

How to use Flipside’s EVM data

First, visit the Flipside Crypto app and create an account if you haven’t already. Then, it’s time to get to work building your first query.

Start by tapping the blue “Next” button in the upper left-hand corner and select “New Query”.

This will bring you to the query editor. From there, select the table you’d like to query on the left-hand side of your screen. This will allow you to view all of the different tables Flipside offers.

From there, enter your query into the Velocity interface, run the query, and view and verify the results. Finally, create a visualization if necessary, and add your query table to a dashboard

Just like that, you’re well on your way to creating beautiful dashboards and visualizations using Flipside’s new EVM Data.
