I. The challenge

#UIChallenge is a mini prototyping challenge made for the community. The main goal of this challenge is to create a working prototype, a minimum of 1 screen, on any platform that Flutter supports.

Last August 2020, we launched our first challenge with a theme, Shop UI — receiving a total of 17 entries.

Going forward — September’s #UIChallenge

We decided to continue this mini-event to run for the next few months, alongside the upcoming meetups and events that we will have for the community.

The next challenge will have the same mechanics from the previous event, except for the theme — which is now: Jobs UI.

September #UIChallenge will run from September 16 to 30, 2020.

McDonald’s Delivery Concept

https://mayoljonathan.com/flutter_fast_food_landing/

Jonathan took the challenge to the next level.

He created an app with a complete order flow — from selecting a store and food, up to the checkout page — more than what we asked for. 🚀

Jonathan built his animated widget that adds a custom fade translation every time you open a new screen. Also, he created several custom widgets on top of the implicitly animated widgets such as AnimatedContainer, AnimatedSize, and AnimatedBuilder — all of which are available from the Flutter SDK.

Pizza Delivery Concept

Joni created this beautiful effect when you add ingredients to the pizza. He used implicitly animated widgets such as AnimatedContainer to implement this effect, along with a custom painter for the slider.

Is there an extra challenge? Yes.

Joni’s built the prototype using Codepen — he didn’t use any external Flutter packages.

Special Mention to Ian

Submission by Ian Jasper Santos

Here in the Philippines, it’s usual that we tend to work for longer hours, and that makes it difficult for some to find the time and join events like this.

But that isn’t the case for Ian.

He submitted 3 Flutter apps! Yes, you read it right— three good looking apps.

You’re the man, Ian.
