Everton owner Farhad Moshiri has made Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone his number one target in the hunt for Koeman’s replacement according to Sky Sport Sources.

It is reported that the current Everton owner has his eyes on four managers with Simeone topping the list. It is unlikely that anything will transpire as the current Atletico Madrid Manager signed a new deal back in September which will see him tied to the Spanish outfit until 2020.

As we reported earlier Sam Allardyce is one of the four names though it is understood that ‘Big Sam’ favours a long term deal with the Toffees only willing to offer a contract until the end of the season. Another name in the Hat is current Everton Interim manager David Unsworth who guided his makeshift side to their first PL win under his reign last weekend.

Watford Manager Marco Silva has been linked with Everton

The surprise name involved in the saga is Watford’s new appointment Marco Silva. The Portuguese manager only accepted the post in May and according to our sources the board at Watford are quietly confident of keeping their man.

We will keep an eye on the Simeone scenario and let you know if anything develops.
