Quite a lot to summarize our August. First, we are proud to tell you that we have obtained support from the funding program of Interchain Foundation. This will help us to build a stronger interchain community in Asia regions. Thank you all our supporters!

Berlin

We came all the way from Hong Kong to join the vibrant Berlin Blockchainweek, started with Web3 Summit. Feeling so good to connect closer to the communities of Cosmos, Solana and Polkadot!

How many validators and blockchains were here?

Shenzhen

Earlier this month in Cosmos Shenzhen Meetup, Kwun has talked about how we used Cosmos SDK and WASM to build Desmos, a chain specifically designed for social networking and messaging. Please read this wrap-up by Shilin.

Desmos

Keeping validators engaged is very important to the success of a blockchain. We know this because we are validators too! We strive to make Desmos a fair and transparent blockchain project since the very first day. We hope to build as much progress as possible before we ask for funding. We need sweat investment more! That’s why we have rolled-out this Developers Support Program. If you are interested to co-buidl Desmos with us, don’t be shy!

Next: Singapore

As Desmos is coming, it’s time to construct the organizational structure of Forbole and Desmos. Singapore may be our perfect choice due to its crypto/startup friendliness and accessibility to Asia market. We are coming to Singapore during 10th to 12th Sep to learn more about the ecosystem there. We will join Cosmos Singapore Inaugural Meetup organized by SGInnovate and StakeWithUs. Jae Kwon, President of Interchain Foundation and Brian Kerr, CEO of Kava Labs will be the speakers. Register now!

If you will be in Singapore for Invest Asia, this guide will help you a lot in planning your busy schedules:

PayWhatYouWant

The monthly report of the donation to our #PayWhatYouWant staking service on Cosmos Hub is as follows

May: 523 atoms
June: 206 atoms
July: 283 atoms
Aug: 133.33 atoms

Back in April, we planned to run this campaign for six months until 31/10/2019. In response to the result of the signalling Proposal #12 “Are Validators Charging 0% Commission Harmful to the Success of the Cosmos Hub?” , we will discuss with the community how to adjust our commission rate.

More people are worrying about the slumping $atoms price. I am quite interested in one of the topics about the relationship between the slump and the total staking ratio, and tweeted some of my rough thoughts:

Finally, as a “Hong Konger”, thank you all for the blessings we have received no matter we were in Taipei, Seoul or Berlin. We are doing great with strong tractions. Joining blockchain space has converted us to a global startup.
