Following up on Biweekly Vol. 13, in the weeks leading up to the Alpha release of the Formosa Financial treasury management app in this edition you can read about Ryan’s appointment as an advisor to the Asia Blockchain and Crypto Association, along with the latest tech updates and AppWorks #18 Mentor Day recap where each team gave a three minute pitch and took questions from the audience in hopes of gaining valuable mentorship from industry leaders.
Formosa Financial CEO, Ryan Terribilini as ABACA advisor
Weeks after Formosa Financial CEO Ryan Terribilini took part in a signing ceremony in Taipei between the Asia Blockchain and Crypto Association (ABACA) and the Taiwan Parliamentary Coalition for Blockchain (TPCB), he has subsequently been appointed as an advisor to ABACA.
As a blockchain industry veteran who previously served as the Head of Platform Partnerships at Ripple and a current research associate focused on cryptoasset regulation at the University of Oxford’s Centre for Technology and Global Affairs, Ryan is enthusiastic to provide ABACA with advice on policy development based on his years of expertise working with banks and FinTech startups in the blockchain space.
As the one and only company in Taiwan currently holding CEZA license and a founding member of the self-regulatory organization (SRO) founded by the TPCB in May last year, Formosa Financial is well-positioned to tighten business and policy collaboration between these two economies.
Formosa Financial has led the charge by becoming the first company based in Taiwan to receive a license from CEZA, so it is fantastic to see Ryan engaging further with ABACA as an advisor as well. As we push out new blockchain policies in Taiwan this year I am excited to learn from Formosa Financia’s experience working with ABACA and CEZA as the blockchain industry continues to expand across Greater Southeast Asia. — Jason Hsu, the Crypto Congressman.
Regarding the addition of a new advisor to ABACA, Vice-Chairman Gonzalez says “We welcome Ryan as an advisor given his strong track record in Blockchain. Formosa Financial Tech Progress
The treasury management app Alpha release date is just around the corner and the Formosa Financial tech team is pushing hard towards this milestone. The backend for custody and fee quotation code has been completed, as well as the withdraw/transfer API. In the next couple of weeks the top priority of the tech team is to provide all the necessary APIs for the frontend so they can be hooked into the backend to create a seamless experience.

State of Formosa
We recently released a letter to share some exciting updates regarding the company’s current position in the industry as well as answer some questions around team structure, platform development, and operations.

AppWorks #18 Demo Day
On March 28th the Formosa Financial team attended AppWorks Mentor Day. It’s a stage for AI and blockchain startups to gain mentorship from industry giants, such as FarEasTone, Mithril, Chinatrust Bank, and many more. The Formosa Financial team had a great afternoon at the much anticipated event as we demonstrated our unique value propositions in front of thought leaders and veterans from some of Taiwan’s biggest companies.
