What do you mean by Content Submission?
Founder8 is a digital platform and we use digital forms to communicate with you. Any data, texts, images, videos/vlogs, audios/podcasts, presentations and written blogs you provide to Founder8 is considered such content and needs to meet the requirements set here and in our General Terms.
What is the difference between Blog, Vlog and Podcast?
Blog is a written piece of content and may or may not include videos, audios, presentations, graphs and images. A vlog includes video content and a podcast includes audio content. For the purposes of Founder8, any vlog, podcast or presentation must be embedded in a blog which has a title, subtitle and may or may not have more written content.
Can I Submit a Blog to be Published on Founder8 site?
Yes, we encourage you to submit original content you have created which resonates with the mission and vision of Founder8. You will be clearly identified as the author of your blog. We encourage where relevant to embed videos, audios, presentations images and/or graphics.
What is the difference between content I submit in an application form and content I submit in a blog?
By providing us with information in a digital form, you give us a non-exclusive license to publish summarised non-personalised information of your content and we may include it in marketing and advertising. We will never feature your content or sell it to third parties without your explicit permission. Submitting a blog gives us such explicit permission and gives us a non-exclusive license to publish your content. You agree that we may enable marketing and advertising on Social Media or elsewhere including such information and we may promote it as part of promotions of Founder8 products, content and services.
What about author rights for content that I submit?
By providing us with any content, you keep your author rights to that content. You also represent that you have the right to do so by posting content that’s in the public domain or under a free license such as Creative Commons or by purchasing a license that allows you to use the content in commercial and advertising projects.
What are your requirements regarding blogs?
Founder8 aims to publish blogs that have a length of 1000–2,500 words. Videos and audios should not be more than 1–3 minutes in length. Credibility is important to our readership, so back up your arguments with relevant research and always link to sources where appropriate. Don’t include anything that you are not sure about. You understand that other people may rely on the accuracy of the data you provide. You are accountable for the legal issues that may arise related to intellectual property right claims and other legal claims with regard to the content you provide. By providing your content to us, you represent that it is correct and doing so doesn’t conflict with any other agreement you’ve made.
Can I submit content in my native language?
All written materials and audios must be submitted in English. Videos can include speech or graphics in another language only if there are English subtitles.
What else is important with regard to my written content?
Please use Grammarly or another similar application to check both the grammar and spelling of your piece using British English.
What else is important with regard to my audio, video and presentation content?
All the audio, video and presentation content you provide needs to be embedded into a Medium page. Embeds on Medium are handled through Embed.ly, a dedicated embedding service. Embedly keeps a list of currently over 300 supported embed providers, which have been directly integrated with the Embedly service. For further information please go to Embeds on Medium.
What else should I know if I am submitting a video as part of my application process?
If you use a video to present yourself as part of an Application process, please introduce yourself/ yourselves, explain what you’re doing and why, and tell us anything else you feel we need to know about you. Please do not include any other effects. Think of the video as if we are in a meeting and you have been asked to introduce yourself. Unlike sometimes at a live meeting, you have the time to prepare yourself and tell us the most important things we need to know. Having said that, reciting or reading, as well as excessive promotion, would not make a good impression. We value spontaneity, honesty and authenticity. Please also do not add any background music to your video. Before submitting the video check that both the audio and the video are clear.
How do I submit my content?
All the content is submitted using the relevant digital forms. Your blog, video or other information should first be embedded in a Medium page with a unique title, subtitle and url through your personal Medium account.
What is a Medium account?
In order to submit blogs and links to Founder8, you must have a Medium account which normally includes your photo, a brief presentation and a link to a relevant site. Getting a Medium account is free. By doing that, you remain clearly identified as the author of the blog and readers and viewers can get in touch with you and follow you on Medium and other Social Media channels you choose to identify yourself with.
Can I use such a blog to promote myself?
Personal information, such as last names, email addresses, and personal websites are not permitted with the exclusion of the information provided in your Medium account. While we are happy that you reference your personal work or project, you should do it only if it adds value to the reader/viewer and any such mentioning should not be the sole focus of the piece. Anything that is overtly promotional will not be published. Please do not include any other personal information, such as last names, email addresses, and websites within the content itself.
Do you publish all submitted blogs?
Not all submissions will be selected for publication. We will notify you only if and when we decide to publish your content.
How do you decide which blogs to publish?
We will not publish blogs that don’t meet our guidelines or we otherwise feel are not a good fit with our content in general or at a specific moment. Lack of clear identity of the author may result in a rejection. The selection criteria is confidential and no information will be provided on the reasons for rejection and approval.
Will I be informed if my blog is selected?
If your blog is selected, we will try to provide you with notice at least one week before the date we intend to publish your content and social media post so that you are available to monitor and answer questions or comments on each post.
How much would you pay me if my blog gets selected?
We do not pay for submissions. If you decide to submit a blog, you do so with the knowledge that you will not be entitled to any compensation.
Would my blog be edited?
Founder8 team reserves the right to edit submitted articles, including grammar, spelling, and formatting. We may add our own images/video if we feel they will help improve the post. If we make such changes, your permission will need to be received before it gets published. If you choose to reject the changes, we may reject to publish it.
Do you have the right to remove my content from your site?
We may edit or remove your content to align with the rest of the content on the Founder8 Site and Platform or for another reason. We also reserve the right to terminate your participation at any time.
Can I request to remove my content from your site?
Yes, you can request the deletion of your content at any time. Processing the deletion may take time, but we will do it as quickly as possible.
