Success in the tech world isn’t guaranteed, even for innovative companies like us. But, I really believe the odds increase when we stay focused on a few key attributes: Our technology and innovation, our company culture, and our place in the community.

This year we launched Pilgrim SDK, further solidifying Foursquare as leaders in location intelligence. We unveiled Foursquare Swarm 5.0, the best version of the app yet, doubling down on helping our community lifelog and remember everywhere they go (in addition to being well on our way to hitting 13 billion check ins!) We’re also powering Snapchat’s Context cards and Reddit’s location tagging, breaking new ground in Asian markets, and continuing to push into new territories, partnerships, and technical capabilities.

It’s that focus on people, product, and community that has helped us earn the trust of our employees, customers, and of course our network of partners, investors, friends, and potential recruits. And it’s great to be recognized for our efforts in these areas:

People:

For the second consecutive year, Ad Age named Foursquare to its annual Best Places to Work list, and that means a lot to us. A company is only as good as its people, and we’re so proud of our team and the culture we’ve built together.

Product:

On the tech and innovation front, Foursquare has evolved into a location intelligence powerhouse that is solving real world problems and opening up new opportunities for our clients and partners. That hard work hasn’t gone unrecognized. In an accolade I feel perfectly exemplifies Foursquare, Deloitte named us to its 2017 list of Technology Fast 500™ Winners. Awarded to companies demonstrating exceptional entrepreneurialism, innovative thinking and rapid growth, we’re proud to be listed by Deloitte among North America’s most disruptive and vibrant companies.

Speaking of disruption, earlier this year Foursquare was also named to CNBC’s 2017 Disruptor 50 list, which celebrates the most forward thinking start-ups whose innovations are changing the world.

Community:

And then there’s the role we play in our community. We’re extremely proud of our role in the ever-growing NYC technology scene, where we’ve been an active and enthusiastic leader for years, so it’s a huge pat on the back to be recognized by Built In NYC as one of the Top 100 Tech Companies.

As Thanksgiving approaches and another great year begins to wind to a close, it’s a great time to reflect on what we’ve built together, and give thanks to our amazing team who makes it all possible. We’re looking excitedly to 2018 and beyond, and we are continuously innovating around location intelligence, everyday. We’re always looking for great talent to help us make our vision of the future into a reality. Check out our full list of opportunities here.
