The sky’s the limit for Freeos!

Following up on our September Update, the team has been busy assembling the elements for the AirClaim launch and there have been a number of exciting activities in the month of October.

Here’s the recap of the month:

  • Delivered on the Beta NFT Rewards, as promised. If you haven’t already, check out your NFTs on ProtonMint. And while you’re there, take a look at — and support — the many new artists creating NFTs on the Proton blockchain.
  • Gave 16 NFTs to those who successfully answered the Freeos Trivia Tuesday questions in our Telegram channel.
  • Got announced officially by the Dfinity Foundation on their list of grant recipients. Additionally, we already have delivered the first prototype promised to the grant committee as a deeper integration of Dfinity & Proton.
  • Further along with the development of the Governance Phase. The core loop has been developed, and we’re hooking up a prototype frontend to start the internal testing process.
  • The FreeDAO Foundation Charter received external feedback, advice, and has been refined. Next step is to present it to a legal team for (hopefully) the final review.
  • Last, but definitely not least, Freeos was selected as one of eight nominees for the 2021 Blockchain for Humanity Awards.

More on the Status of the AirClaim

Unfortunately, we have to report that the AirClaim launch window has not fully come into view as we’re waiting for a few items:

  1. Finalising the FreeDAO Foundation
  2. Waiting for regional borders to open up for key account security management.
  3. Waiting for the Proton wallet 2.0 that was announced by the Proton team on October 15th.

For item #1, we are looking at a few weeks away from having the Foundation setup and ready for deployment of the AirClaim code. This has been much of our focus behind the scenes in October.

With item #2, we are still waiting for a clear indication by the government of New Zealand, but we’re hopeful that the regional borders could be opened up by the end of the month.

As for item #3, Team Proton has been testing the new Proton wallet 2.0 internally and we’ve heard good things so far. Typically the Proton team announces items quite soon before being ready so fingers crossed on this one.

Again, we will be updating the community at the end of November on what the status is, and we’ll be announcing any partial movement along the way as well.

Stay tuned for updates in the coming weeks, here in Medium, on Twitter, and in our Telegram and Discord channels
