Detox Tea

I have started a detox series in my blog to help you guys out there to live a healthy and happy life. Below are the five highly rated detox tea recipes that will rejuvenate your body and provide you with the extra kick of healthiness!!!

Ginger reduces inflammation, soothes pain and help regulate blood sugar. It is packed with anti oxidants and helps to clear your skin. This tea is often referred to as the skin clearing tea as it will help to eliminate pimples and dark spots with regular consumption.

Slice off the required portion of the ginger and grate it thoroughly to make a smooth paste. Boil water and slowly add the ginger paste along with some fresh lemon juice and two tablespoons of honey. Stir the mixture and your tea is ready!! Have one cup every morning and another every night to help your body’s natural detoxing system do its job. If you don’t like hot drinks then cool the tea and add some ice to the drink. Add some fresh mint leaves to the cool drink for added flavor.

The roots and leaves of the dandelion plant are used to make Dandelion Tea. It contains lots of antioxidants like vitamins A, C and D, and significant amounts of zinc, iron, magnesium and potassium.

Separate the root from the leaves, stems and flowers, and rinse the root vigorously under cool running water. In a bowl bring two cups of water to a boil and to this boiled water add finely chopped roots of the dandelion plant. Simmer the mixture for about five minutes. Strain the mixture and add two or three tulsi leaves for added flavor.

Milk thistle tea is commonly associated with its benefits to the liver. The active ingredient in milk thistle tea is called silymarin, which is a combination of three flavonoids that are potent antioxidants.

Crush one tablespoon of milk thistle seeds in a mortar. Add three cups of water and boil the mixture. Steep for about twenty minutes and strain. Add a tablespoon of organic honey for flavor. Drink one cup thirty minutes before meals in the morning, afternoon and evening, as well as just before going to bed. After two to three days, reduce your intake up to three times a day.

Some of the health benefits of turmeric is: It boosts immunity by improving liver function; protects liver tissue; Cleanses and purifies the blood; Eases symptoms of coughs and colds; Improves circulation in the body; Improves skin complexion; Prevents internal blood clotting; Reduces bad cholesterol; Reduces inflammation — all types of arthritis and other inflammation; Stimulates secretion of bile which helps break down fat.

In boiling hot water, add a slice of turmeric along with a teaspoon of cinnamon, a pinch of black pepper, and a tablespoon of honey. Stir the mixture and boil it until the turmeric slice has given out all its ingredients. Add some fresh mint for flavor. Drink it daily for maximum benefits.

Rosehip tea is a great source of vitamin C and can help ease a cold or even stave it off if you drink it regularly during the colder months.

To a cup of hot boiling water, add a tablespoon of dried Rosehip mixture. Simmer it for about three minutes and then strain it in a tea cup. Add a tablespoon of honey for added flavor.
