GHCI or Grace Hopper Celebration India, is India’s largest technical conference for women in computing and technology. The conference is co-presented by the AnitaB.org India(Cleverly named after the celebrated Anita Borg) and Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) India.
This is the second article. Read what GHCI is all about here.

Now, How do you be a part of the GHCI?

  1. General Registrations
  2. Student Scholarships
  3. Presenters and WEQ finalists

Some details about these options :-

1. The General online registration costs somewhere between 10–20k INR and is open to everyone from students to professionals to academicians. The pricing is generally based on the number of days you want to attend.

Here let me point out that the entry to the career fair is free. You only have to register online when the registration begins and then submit your updated resume to their database to be discovered by sponsoring companies for appropriate positions(this year’s link). It is advised to submit your resume online even if you cannot attend the conference in-person, as interested companies may contact you later via email if they were not able to interview candidates on-site.

2. For final year students, there are limited number of GHCI Student Scholarships(the applications open in a couple of days) that gives the recipient the opportunity to attend the GHCI conference. This includes the full conference registration fee and meals. It also covers a limited travel expense reimbursement. As a past scholarship recipient, I guarantee you, this is one of the best ways to attend the conference, apply for great jobs and expand your network. This is the only option that is not open to men.

3. Speakers, Poster presenters and WEQ finalists (call for this year’s submissions is already open!) are given separate entry passes that allow them to attend the whole or part of conference for free. Information is updated on the website annually and once you get selected for the respective programs.
