What is your Contribution TO Life?
Unlocking the Door to a Fulfilled Life
“The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek” — Joseph Campbell
All of the truly great men and women, whose words have stood the test of time, have agreed with one voice:
It is not what a man receives in this life that leads him to the pinnacle of happiness; it is what he gives in this life that brings him the most joy and satisfaction.
It is only in giving, only in spending his all in a cause that he deems worthy of the precious seconds of his life, that a man receives the happiness and fulfillment he so earnestly seeks.
The overriding goal of every creature on earth is the expansion of Life.
Just the fact that someone is breathing and experiencing Life in this moment proves that there is a purpose for him. An ultimate goal. He need not seek it; it finds him. In fact, it chose him long ago. To make Life bigger. To make Life more.
And that really is the power of the Gift.
Does he want to be truly fulfilled? Then, at some point in his Life, each person must consider the absolute miracle of his own existence. He must pause in his “busyness” long enough to stand in amazement at the wonder of the Life he has received. He must look outward at Life around him, and he must look inward at the Life within him. And he must ask himself…
“What is my contribution TO Life, what is my true work?”
And he must do that work freely and generously, because of appreciation and gratitude for this amazing opportunity of experiencing Life itself.
He must share that work without charge, as his contribution to the Life within. In fact, if it is his true work, he knows he cannot charge for it.
Because he knows it came TO him and not FROM him. He is just the conduit.
For the command upon his Spirit is always…
“Freely you have received. Freely give.”
He doesn’t need to ask what his purpose in life is, or what his meaning in life is. He knows only that his true joy comes from the Deep within, and overflows to the Love without. His purpose is then self-evident.
And he cannot use up his one chance at life in a wasteful way, a way that leaves him defeated and depressed. Adrift. He must grab hold and ride that life until Life calls him back.
Because a peaceful and contented death is the result of a beautiful and meaningful life.
The Gift satisfies a person’s deepest calling:
To live a life that matters.
Not to do, or to have.
But to BE.
And that is why it is superior to every other form of exchange.
It aligns with the greatest and deepest desire in man. To love freely and live fully.
It represents the longing of every man: True freedom.
And that is why I embrace the Vision, the Gift I received…
… and now return to the world.
“The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn; the bird waits in the egg; and in the highest vision of the soul a waking angel stirs. Dreams are the seedlings of realities.”
— James Allen
