So you think you know what mom wants for Mother’s Day? Think again!

Mother’s Day is just around the corner and you are wondering what to give mom. My hope is that this blog helps you find that perfect gift for mom.

I recently conducted a survey on various social channels and asked two simple questions

What would you like to gift mom this Mother’s Day?

Mom’s what would you like to receive this year for Mother’s Day?

And for each of these questions I gave the following 11 option:

1. Salon/spa treatment
2. Photo session where she gets a beautiful makeup with picture
3. Wine tasting
4. Art class or art class with wine tasting or cooking class
5. Catered meals for a week or a restaurant meal
6. Theatre pass or art gallery membership
7. Subscription to a beauty box or jewelry box
8. Home services (like maid service or carpet cleaning)
9. Fitness or gym membership
10. Travel service such as trip to Napa or Sonoma in chauffeured car
11. Other — please specify

I received over 115 responses in all and here are the top six responses to the two questions:

For the question — what would you like to gift mom, the top six preferences were:

1. Travel service such as trip to Napa or Sonoma in chauffeured car — 20% people voted for this
2. Salon/spa treatment— 17% people voted for this
3. Fitness or gym membership — 17% people voted for this
4. Catered meals for a week or a meal at a restaurant — 13% people voted for this
5. Home services such as carpet cleaning or maid services — 13% people voted for this
6. Theatre or museum membership — 10% people voted for this.

For the question — where we asked mom’s what would they like to receive this Mother’s Day, the top six preferences were:

1. Salon/spa treatment — 45% moms voted for this
2. Travel service such as trip to Napa or Sonoma in chauffeured car — 12% moms voted for this
3. Fitness or gym membership — 9% moms voted for this
4. Wine tasting — 8% moms voted for this
5. Art class or art class with wine tasting — 8% moms voted for this
6. Catered meals for a week or a meal at a restaurant — 7% moms voted for this

Numbers speak for themselves — nothing beats a nice relaxing day at the spa or salon for moms. That is still by far the most preferred option by moms. Although, what you would like to gift is not very different from what mom wants — the sheer percentage of women voting for salon/spa treatment made it stand out as a gift.

In all honesty, for all the love I have for my family and for all the care I put into what I do for them; I deserve a day just to myself to relax and be pampered.
