Hey there, Glitchers!

We’re delighted to give you an update on the Glitch Community Advocate Program.

For those unsure what the program is, this initiative allows all community members that apply and are approved to play an essential role in shaping Glitch and the future of decentralized financial applications through various promotional activities, content creation, regional support, and more.

There’s no doubt that the team is aware of the program’s ups and downs over the past year since its initial release, with 20 advocates joining. Since then, we have had some management and communication issues surrounding the program that we resolved months ago, and now have restructured the program to include even more benefits and increase organization. We have restructured, reorganized, and are working to re-execute the advocate program thoroughly. It’s an exciting time to be a member of the Glitch community, as the team plans to start onboarding more qualified individuals at the end of the year.

Now that you’ve gotten the gist let’s get into the specifics.

Latest Changes to the Community Advocate Program

New Onboarding Process

We’re working on a new process that will screen candidates much better than before to ensure they are a better fit and join for the right reasons. We’re also adding the requirement that all applicants must have previous professional experience in marketing (preferably in the crypto industry) and self-taught knowledge of DeFi.

Bigger Rewards

The Advocate reward allocation has been revised depending on the quality of contributions and the total number of completed assigned tasks. Previously, advocates needed to wait three months to begin collecting rewards to ensure they joined for the right reasons. This will no longer be needed with the new process that is in the works. Additionally, a reward multiplier will increase your earning potential based on your efforts and total points accumulated.

Improved Advocate Information

Advocates now have a dedicated space where relevant documents and information are posted so they can create even higher-quality content around the technology the team is building.

Higher Advocate Expectations

Advocates are now required to sign off on expectations and meet a minimum number of points to begin collecting rewards and remaining in the program. Advocates were also given a tracking document for accountability. Lastly, those who do not participate in completing tasks or miss too many meetings will be asked to step down. We’re only looking for genuinely passionate people who take this initiative seriously and Glitch to the next level as rockstar contributors.

Bi-Weekly 1–1 Meeting between the Advocates & the Glitch Team

As part of the most recent updates to the program, Advocates attend bi-weekly one-on-one meetings with the team. As the program grows, we will consider implementing the return of the monthly Advocate Townhall; if nothing else, one-on-one sessions are sufficient. We’ve found that people are more comfortable talking in a personal session than in a group setting.

Demo Day

The team is preparing for an internal demo day to offer advocates more data to boost morale and promote the project. In turn, advocates can also confirm some of the development aspects that the community is asking about. With specific NDAs in place, advocates will be told what they can and cannot share. We may extend this to the general community during the monthly AMAs, though this is still up for discussion.

Number of Advocates

To streamline the management of the program, there will be no more than ten advocates participating in the program at one time. We anticipate reviewing, interviewing, and onboarding new applicants at the end of this year.

Further, we would like to thank the members who are no longer in the Advocate Program (16 members of whom left for personal reasons or were terminated for lack of participation) for their support in helping to grow Glitch globally and across various regional communities. We want to express our gratitude to the current advocates (5 actively involved members) who have been there for Glitch and have gone above and beyond to show their support!
