Globcoin Q1–2020 Update
These are difficult times for Planet Earth with the COVID19 pandemic, and the first thing we want to say is that our love goes out to your and your loved ones. We hope you are safe at home, and soon enough we will remember this as an experience that made us stronger and united.
But today we want to deliver a message of hope. We continue working on our projects and we want to share with you how the Globcoin vision is advancing even in the most adverse of times.
🎂 Our stablecoin GLX turned 1!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to us. Our flagship stablecoin GLX had its 1st anniversary. We officially launched the GLX in January 2019, during the World Economic Forum in Davos, as the first stable payment coin based on a basket of the world’s top 15 currencies and gold, the most universal of its kind. 👥Geneva Blockchain Congress
“Is the use of stablecoins inevitable in settlement to capture the full added-value of digital assets? Could a recognised stablecoin compete with a CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency)?” Globcoin CEO Helie d’Hautefort was invited to discuss this at the Geneva Blockchain Congress in January 20th, along with a great panel of experts.
🌎 Davos 2020
For Globcoin is already a tradition to attend the World Economic Forum. This year, we especially enjoyed Jill Ellis (US soccer coach) giving an amazing talk on how to build a team, manage expectations and designing / executing a strategy. She would know!

Helie also took part in the Dukascopy bank stablecoin event in Geneva.
👥 APIDE 2020 — cancelled
Even though the event was cancelled (among many others) due to COVID-19; we thought it was important to share with you that Hélie d’Hautefort would be at the “Africa Pay and ID”_2020 in Marrakesh on 12 & 13 March. We are always excited about Africa and we will wait for the event to be rescheduled.
